The Accountant position comes with a salary ranging from £45,000 to £55,000. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and trial balance, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial records
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports in line with group reporting requirements and consolidation timelines

Astute’s Power team are looking to recruit a Outage QA/QC Engineer on a 3 week outage in Cheshire starting in March 2026. The position will be on days only, working 12 hours, 7 days a week once in outage.    The Outage QA/QC Engineer roles come with an hourly rate of £40.00. Key skills required for Outage QA/QC Engineer role  
  • Provide QA/QC oversight during vessel boxing-up activities, ensuring correct gasket installation, bolting procedures, torquing, and final closure compliance.
  • Monitor and inspect valve welding activities, confirming adherence to approved WPS/PQR, material traceability, welder qualifications, and NDT requirements.
  • Oversee welding works, ensuring compliance with welding procedures, pre/post-weld heat treatment requirements, and inspection hold points.
  • Oversee valve overhaul activities, verifying inspection records, component replacement, pressure testing, and correct reassembly/ installation.
  • Ensure all quality documentation, ITPs, weld records, NDT reports, and test certificates are completed and compiled accurately.
  • Liaise with site management, contractors, and client representatives on quality matters.
  • Raise and manage NCRs where required and ensure close-out of quality issues.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, and outage schedule requirements.

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering with proven experience as an Outage Manager, Plant Operations Manager or similar leadership role within the energy sector or other large scale industrial environments. 
  • Proven experience of contractor management and site coordination experience across complex maintenance and outage activities. 
  • Excellent technical understanding of mechanical plant systems.
Contract length TBC however, at least 6-12 months.

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager to join the end client on the delivery of on a Heat offtake project for the installation of new heat offtake connections to the existing steam turbine, new heat recovery equipment, and a new heat pipe to an existing interface point already connected to an established heat network. The role is a contract position outside of IR35 for 8 months. 

The  Construction Manager position comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £550.00 per day outside of IR35. The project in based in South London. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for the Heat Offtake project, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
  • Drive a strong health, safety, and environmental culture in line with company standards and UK regulatory requirements.

The Plant Operator positions come with a night shift rate from £400.00 to £500.00 outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  
  • Operated and monitored synchronous condenser plant systems during commissioning, energisation, and normal operational activities, ensuring safe and efficient plant performance.
  • Experienced in the use of SCADA systems for plant monitoring, alarm management, trend analysis, switching activities, and fault identification across electrical generation and grid support systems.
