Operations Team Leader

Operations Team Leader Waste Management Bargeddie Up to £34,000 – 4 on 4 off days     Introduction Our client is one of the UK's leading providers of Environmental solutions, offering a full range of Waste and Energy Recovery services through a vast and growing network of Plants and Facilities across the country. As such, they are looking for a strong and experienced Operations Team Leader to join their Operations team at their Waste site in Bargeddie.                         Roles & Responsibilities As the Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for:  
  • Supporting the process operators within the plant, effectively operating the SCADA systems effectively for all fixed plant across the site.
  • Ensuring the site is running in line with production plans and KPI’s, prioritising task and escalating any issues as required.
  • Coordinate a shift of process operators, managing work-load to cover the plant and utilising resources where required.
  • Support the Operations Production Supervisor to manage daily checks, team performance and absence, leading attending meetings when needed.
  • Promote excellent health and safety practice, ensuring the team are working to safety procedures and in line with company expectations.
  • All other duties as required.

  • Have significant experience operating a SCADA system in a production environment.
  • Previous experience leading/ supervising a team of operators within a process site.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of site licence requirements, working plans and health and safety regulations. Ideally holding an IOSH certification.
  • Have previous experience working within a heavy process engineering environment or materials handling. (Waste Management, Power Generation, Chemical Processing, Food & Beverage, FMCG)
  • Due to the nature of the role, candidates are expected to have a Full UK Driving license

  • Conduct, manage and plan quality inspections.
  • Champion quality assurance and inspection processes, producing clear and accurate reports covering quality approval, construction progress, non-conformances, defect resolution, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with the site construction team, clients site-based quality and construction teams to ensure inspections, approvals, and documentation are fully compliant with project based and statutory requirements.
  • Support, monitor and promote compliance with the company’s and project requirements.
  • Track Snags/ Damages to show close out applying a golden thread approach.

They are looking to recruit a Site Quality Manager on a 12-month minimum contract for its site in Southeast of England.       The Site Quality Manager role comes with a day rate of £600.      Key skills required for the Site Quality Manager role   
  • Overall Site Quality Control (QC) lead & manager of the Site Quality team, reporting directly to the Project Site Manager (PSM), with functional reporting to the Project Quality Manager (PQM)
  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) & enforces construction site HSE requirements, and is required to support the PSIM in implementation of the site HSE policies as needed
  • Ensures that relevant quality certification necessary for site works are available and are valid and ensure that approved testing equipment is calibrated and properly used
  • Participates in the review and approval of assembly test plans and other quality-related documents (e.g. manufacturer approvals, process skills, personnel qualifications, inspection instructions) before installation. Responsible for organising, managing and conducting the intermediate and final inspections at construction site (IIS, FIS, MEC/TOP), according to the approved QC plan
  • Ensures that the quality requirements as per Inspection & Test Plan are fulfilled by the contractor, with progress and deviations recorded in the QC tool (PIRS web, LMS or ALP) and communicated to the respective contractor for action and through regular site walkdowns, identifies potential sources of deviation to the contractual requirement and records them in the QC tool

  • Prepare technical specifications and advise with engineering decision-making and justification
  • Take the lead during project phase, chairing internal and external engineering reviews

  • Process review experience and experience with HAZOPs, ALMs and DSEAR regulations
  • Knowledge of CAD and 3D modelling would be advantageous but not essential

Who we are looking for?

As a Cabling & Equipment Project Manager, we are looking for someone with experience as a project manager on a major electrical project. We require someone with a background in delivering design and manufacturing projects whilst liaising with a multitude of suppliers. 

Candidates that have worked in a nuclear environment are ideal however this is not a prerequisite.

 

What will you be doing?
