Machine Operator Responsibilities (Training Progression)

• Set up, adjust, and complete changeovers on injection molding and blow molding equipment • Change molds and complete machine adjustments as needed • Perform basic electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting • Read measurements and use calipers accurately • Maintain clear production and quality records • Support the Team Leader and fill in when needed

Day Shift -  6am-6pm  2-2-3 Schedule Night Shift - 6pm-6am Mon-Thu Pay: Day Shift - $16/hr         Night Shift - $17/hr           

In this role you will be packing ink cartridges, photos, or cards into boxes, putting them in plastic sleeves, then boxing those sleeves into cases.  Once packed cases will be sealed and palletized. Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Experience in commercial packing and/or assembly

  • Must be able to stand and move for the entire shift

Shift: 6am-6pm 2-2-3 schedule

            6pm-6am Mon-Thu Pay: $16 - $18/hr        

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To set up and operate slitting machines according to the appropriate “machine operator’s manual” under direction of the Group Leader.
  • Carry and supply materials to the machines.
  • Remove the finished product from the machine. Supplies and finished goods of up to 38 lbs. must be lifted about 75 times per shift. (Maximum weight to be lifted is 50lbs.)
  • Group Leaders will determine the machine each operator is assigned to. Operators will be cross trained to operate different machines.
  • Recommend productivity improvement plans and cost reduction plans (Total Productive Maintenance activity). Investigate and analyze causes of target frustration.
  • Help train other machine operators.
  • Facilitate internal communication and working relationships within areas of responsibility.

3 different machines in slitting

  • Paper slitting- 2 people on team, bagging rolls and putting on pallet
  • Photo slitting- rolls of ink paper, opportunity for $5 increase after 3 months if meet quota
  • Card Slitting- smaller rolls and have to put caps on both ends after slit

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 months of machine operation experience required.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to enter production data into a computer.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.
  • Production line experience in manufacturing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout shift.

Pay: $17/hr (increases to $19.25 after approximately 90 days) Shift: 4pm-2am Mon-Thu You may work occasional overtime   Responsible for operating rewind and finishing equipment to inspect and slit and finish labels to customer specifications.  Assists Press Operators to produce quality labels and products according to order specifications.  

 Basic Function/Summary:

  • Reads order specifications, sets up rewind and finishing equipment to finish product and pack for shipment to customers.
  • Works with Operators and Quality to ensure that production has manufactured quality labels.
  • Ensure core tags and rewind position are as required by order.
  • Ensure proper splice.
  • Apply knowledge to check orders and ensure that all press work is up to company and customer quality specifications.
  • Packs product according to specifications.
  • Assist operators with make ready and wash ups.
  • Communicates effectively with all manufacturing personnel.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings and observe all safety policies and procedures. 
  • Must be trained to successfully run both Rotoflex and Roto-Control , maintaining good quality.
 

 Essential Functions include the following:

To operate production machines in order to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual output targets.

Duties, Responsibilities & Authority:
  • Operate a coating machine and produce the correctly coated ink ribbon.
  • Operate production machines according to the appropriate “machine operator’s manual” under direction of the Group Leader and Technical staff.
  • Perform product changeovers to the coating machine. Activities not limited to roll exchanges, roll cleaning, doctor blade exchanges, threading, filter changes, parts cleaning and material handling. Some activities requiring periods of physical exertion. Coordinating with maintenance, operation, management and others as necessary.
  • Obtain a full knowledge of the mixing, coating and ink supply system in order to be proficient in troubleshooting basic equipment and process problems.
  • Charge ink raw materials and organic solvents into an ink production device in a measured & controlled manner thus producing a coat-able solution per established specification.
  • Lead in basic maintenance activities by having input and explanation to “what needs to be done”. Then assist as possible, making sure activities are scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
  • Strongly participate in productivity improvement plans and cost reduction plans (Total Productive Maintenance activity). Investigate and analyze causes for defective product or production inefficacies.
  • Perform Quality Control testing and judging product quality.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Required: High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in chemicals mixing/blending operations preferred.
  • Prior product manufacturing experience required.
  • Operator must pass a physical exam and be able to bend, stoop, squat, twist and work in cramped spaces to thread machines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, operate a roll cart with weight in excess of 500 pounds and must be able to occasionally work in confined spaces. Repetitive arm and shoulder motion when cleaning rolls.
  • Must be able to operate appropriate test equipment and react to the readings generated or displayed on monitors, gauges, panels or sensors.
