As a Shipping & Receiving Manager, you'll oversee the entire shipment lifecycle — from order receipt to final delivery. What You'll Do

As a Shipping & Receiving Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading and supervising a team of four employees across shipping, receiving, and order entry functions, setting daily priorities and adjusting workflows as needed.
  • Directly managing the full order process, resolving any missing specifications, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, high-pressure communications, and problem resolution with professionalism and urgency.
  • Coordinating with freight carriers to prioritize shipments, oversee incoming materials, verify accuracy, and ensure proper routing for production.
  • Overseeing incoming materials, verifying accuracy, and ensuring proper tagging and routing to facilitate smooth production flow.
  • Maintaining clear communication with customers by providing timely updates and managing expectations throughout the order lifecycle.
  • Ensuring all shipments are documented accurately, on time, and meet quality standards.

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will have:
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
  • Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Technical proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and shipping software, with experience using BlueStreak a plus.
  • Valid forklift certification and experience operating a forklift.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move frequently between workstations and the shop floor.
  • Excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency, and strong accountability.

Preferred qualifications include experience in Aerospace, Heat Treating, or Metal Processing, familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards, and CDL or large vehicle operation experience as a backup driver.

  • Knowledge of gas burners, refractory brick laying, PLC programming, or heavy hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with diagnostic troubleshooting and repairs in a high-temperature environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Physical ability to work in a challenging shop setting, including hot, cold, and dirty conditions.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus, but aptitude and a positive attitude are most important.
