The Junior mechanical designer Engineer CAD Designer will assist in translating customer ideas and specifications into detailed drawings and 3D models, supporting the manufacturing process. The role involves working closely with more experienced team members to ensure that designs are optimized for production and that all dimensions, tolerances, and finishes are accurately represented. Additionally, the Junior CAD Designer will support product development and learn to identify cost-saving opportunities in design and manufacturing techniques.

Duties and responsibilities for Junior mechanical designer Engineer CAD Designer:
  • Drawing and Design Support:
  • Assist in converting customer requirements into basic fabrication drawings under the guidance of senior designers.
  • Learn and apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure manufacturability.
  • Help maintain consistency between drawings and actual fabrication/machining processes.

Learning and Development:

  • Develop skills in blueprint reading, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Gain experience in using CAD software (Solidworks or equivalent) to create simple designs.
  • Familiarize yourself with Microsoft Office and other software tools as required.
  • Participate in training to improve communication and technical skills.

Manufacturing and Quality Assistance:

  • Support the programming of automated manufacturing systems with guidance.
  • Assist in inspecting produced items to ensure they meet the drawing specifications.
