Duties and Responsibilities for Green Chain Puller:

  • Pull Lumber off conveyor belt
  • Sort Lumber and/or Clear Chain
  • Ensure that all lumber is pulled into it's designated load according to:
    • Size
    • Length
    • Lumber Grade
  • Stack all units to correct height and width
  • Make sure that Stickers are properly located
  • Make sure that the resaw and trim is properly stacked into stable units
  • TEAMWORK is IMPORTANT! 
    • You will work with other Chain Pullers as a team, to ensure a safe, efficient production flow.
    • Work as a TEAM to maneuver the extremely heavy lumber, SAFELY
  • Know and utilize all lock-out/tag-out procedures associated with your job duties
  • When time allows, carry stickers, straighten loads and band units for forklift and Cleanup as needed
 

Skills and Qualifications for Green Chain Puller:

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. continually
    • This is a Very physical job, body conditioning will be necessary!
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Punctuality and Good Attendance is KEY
  • Must understand the fundamentals of sawmilling
