About the job:
  • Pay: $868.00 Per day
  • Schedule Type: Per Diem
  • Schedule: Monday-Sunday; a minimum of 2  days a week for 12 hour preschedule shifts

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months of Operating Room  nursing experience in level 1 trauma center
Required Certification
  • Associates of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS - (American Heart Association) 
  • PALS - (American Heart Association) 
  • NIHSS-(American Heart Association)
  • MAB or CPI Certification

Responsibilities·
  • Continuously monitoring and interpreting cardiac activity (e.g., ECG) to identify any anomalies or changes in rhythm, immediately reporting concerns to the physician.
  • Diligently tracking and documenting all vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, temperature) in real-time, anticipating potential physiological shifts.
  • Precisely preparing, administering, and meticulously documenting all medications as directed by the physician, ensuring accurate dosages and understanding their effects on the patient's condition during the procedure. This includes managing sedatives, analgesics, and other intraoperative drugs.
  • Administering and managing pre-operative oral and IV medications according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring proper timing for desired therapeutic effects (e.g., anxiety reduction, prophylactic antibiotics).
  • Maintaining continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring during the nerve block procedure to detect any adverse reactions, such as changes in heart rate, blood pressure, or signs of local anesthetic systemic toxicity.
  • Administering supplemental oxygen as indicated to maintain optimal oxygen saturation levels

Required
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related Registered Nurse work experience in a relevant setting (e.g., Endoscopy, GI, PACU, or inpatient medical-surgical with some type of GI experience).
  • Active California RN License.
  • BLS AND ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to assist in a supportive role during advanced cases, or manage complex post-procedure recovery.
Responsibilities
  • Assists physicians during procedures with cardiac, vital sign, and medication management.
  • Preps incoming patients for procedures, including but not limited to, IV insertion, pre-operative oral and IV medication management, and attaining consent.
  • Assists and monitors patients during and after nerve blocks, which require cardiac and vital sign monitoring and oxygen administration.
  • Assists patients recovering in PACU, administering pain medications, monitoring vital signs, and prepping patients for discharge.
  • Precisely preparing, administering, and documenting medications as ordered by the physician. 
  • Preparing patients to go home by providing clear, concise post-operative instructions, reviewing medication schedules, explaining wound care, and ensuring they meet all discharge criteria, such as stable vital signs, alertness, and adequate pain control. You'll also coordinate with family or caregivers for a safe handoff.
