Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, dietetics/nutrition/pharmacy
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing or registered dietician experience 
  • Valid license based on location of practice as a Dietitian (must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration)
  • Must have knowledge on setting up and receiving approval for diabetic supplies including diabetic pumps and dietary needs for diabetic patients
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred:

  • EPIC experience
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
  • Recent pediatric diabetes experience 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports departmental nutrition initiatives and contributes to the development of nutrition-related protocols and guidelines.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide nutrition expertise in care planning for individuals with diabetes and cardiometabolic conditions.

  • Assists in the development and evaluation of educational materials and programs related to nutrition and self-management of diabetes.

  • Serves as a resource to colleagues regarding evidence-based nutrition practices for diabetes and cardiometabolic health.

  • Engages in professional development activities and maintains current knowledge of dietetics practice and diabetes-related nutrition care.

  • Participates in quality improvement projects specific to nutrition services and dietary care delivery.

  • Collaborates with community and hospital partners to promote nutrition awareness and diabetes prevention programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent  
  • Typing speed of 30 WPM
  • 1 - 2 years administrative, clerical, or customer service experience
  • Strong data entry skills with ability to use multiple computer programs simultaneously 
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, sensitive environment 
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment (phones, scanners, filing systems), computer systems and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Prior experience working with patient registration 
Preferred: 
  • AA degree

  Job Requirements:
  • The Administrative Assistant in the Blood Center plays a critical role in supporting daily operations by managing patient registrations, processing blood samples, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry into the electronic medical record system. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized individual with strong communication skills who can work independently while collaborating closely with clinical and laboratory staff.
  • Complete patient registration and admission processes in according with EMTALA law, PAS policies, and departmental procedures. 
  • Obtain and document patient demographic information, signatures, draw dates, and prescribing information on all applicable documents. 
  • Create and update patient charts in EPIC and perform complex data entry related to kit orders, blood transfusions, and laboratory requisitions. 
  • Process and scan documentation into electronic systems (EDM, Rightfax, PACS, Life Image) and maintain accurate filing systems (both paper and electronic). 
  • Answer multi-line phone inquiries and provide timely, accurate information to patient, families, providers, and external partners. 
  • Provide customer service in a sensitive, professional, and solution-oriented manner. 
  • Distribute patient-facing materials such as wristbands, privacy notices, and other required documentation. 
  • Maintain patient follow-up processes after procedures and ensure clinical staff are supported with necessary information and documents. 
  • Support coordination with ambulance agencies, law enforcement, and external office as needed. Collaborate with clinical and registration staff to ensure seamless operations during high volume or stressful periods. 
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support overall Blood Center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the multispecialty building and assist during Urologic procedures
  • Perform catheter insertions, removals, care, and bladder irrigation using sterile technique
  • Assist physicians with cystoscopies, biopsies, dilations, stent exchanges, and other minor urologic procedures
  • Manage in-basket inquiries, clinical CRM escalations, and participate in time-outs for procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication between physicians and patients using Epic in-basket messaging
  • Educate patients and families to prepare them for procedures and testing
  • Review patient documentation, ensure accuracy in the EMR, and discuss with the physician
  • Triage patients and provide initial consultations following physician review
