Position Overview/Responsibilities for the IBM iSeries System Engineering Supervisor:
• Serve as the subject matter expert for IBM i systems, providing strategic guidance and recommendations for hardware and software.
• Oversee the lifecycle management of over 100 IBM i installations, ensuring optimal performance and security through regular maintenance and upgrades.
• Lead a dedicated team in the setup and configuration of new IBM servers, managing procurement and logistics.
• Deliver expert technical support and problem resolution for IBM i systems and related peripherals.
• Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills for IBM iSeries System Engineering Supervisor:
• Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a related infrastructure role, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge of IBM i OS and system performance components, with proficiency in hardware configuration and support.
• Strong understanding of IBM i security and operations, including user profile management and backups.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
