Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Accountant II:
- Oversee payroll accounts, receivables, and payables
- Work closely with HR and other finance departments
- Proactively identify gaps and devise solutions or escalate issues as necessary
- Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely delivery
- Analyze general ledger account activities and perform other monthly analytical closing activities
- Respond to inquiries from various departments and provide supporting documentation for the financial reporting process
Required Skills for Accountant II:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industry accounting, public accounting, or internal auditing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SAP enterprise software and/or Business Objects reporting software preferred
- Knowledge of SEC requirements, GAAP, and new accounting pronouncements
- Ability to work independently and partner proactively with the business
- CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred
