• Controlling vehicle movements in the tipping hall area
• Assisting with loading and unloading operations
• Operation of mobile plant and machinery in accordance with the company’s procedures
• Operations of weighbridges when required and completing the necessary tickets associated
• Carry out first line maintenance activities within the tipping hall area
• Operating the overhead grab crane via the control room when required
• Carry out random inspections of waste arriving to site in the tipping hall to ensure compliance with the permit and reporting any none-conformance

This will be a Monday – Friday role working split day shifts (06:30 – 15:00 / 10:30 – 19:00) with working an early Saturday shift 1 in 7 weeks.     Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  

• An engineering qualification will be advantageous, but not a necessity
• Possessing mobile plant tickets will be highly advantageous

    Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge The Day Operator role would suit someone who has:  

• Experience in mobile plant operations
• Prior experience working in the waste management sector
• Good IT skills with ability to use MS applications

• Liaising with the Maintenance Manager and other relevant personnel regarding projects, maintenance, outages, costing and programming of plant improvements
• The day-to-day monitoring of plant efficiency and directing the operations staff to optimise the power station accordingly
• Preparing the annual budget for the Operations department for review and work within this budget
• Carry out annual performance reviews with operations staff
• Prepare reports and presentation relating to the plant’s operational activities as required

    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  

• A relevant engineering or technical qualification at degree / HND / HNC level
• An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification will be desired  

    Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge The Assistant Operations Manager role would suit someone who has:  

• Extensive operations experience in industrial engineering environments such as Power (EfW, CCGT, CHP, Biomass, Coal, etc), Paper Mills, Oil & Gas, COMAH sites, Utilities, etc
• Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments
• Experience liaising with governing bodies such as the EA and HSE
• Experience of managing budgets and in the training and development of staff
• Supervisory / management experience

Astute’s Power team is partnered with a reputable company to recruit an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician for their Biomass Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Station in Rothes, Scotland. The plant process c.130,000 tons of biomass per annum which exports just over 7MW of electricity to the grid, enough to power 9,000 homes. The vital Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation role comes with a salary of up to £50,000 + 13% Pension + relocation assistance (if needed) + benefits. • Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
• Working within the company health, safety and environmental processes and procedures at all times.

    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  

• A time-served apprenticeship with an NVQ Level 3 in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar.
• 17th / 18th Edition will be advantageous but not a necessity

    Personal skills, prior experience, and knowledge The Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation role would suit someone who has:

• Excellent technical knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, Instrumentation, and some electrical experience
• Prior experience gained in a heavy process environment e.g. power station, chemical plant, refinery, steel works etc
• Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
• Experience with instrument loop drawing and P&IDs
• A flexible working approach
• A controls and instrumentation bias

• Assisting with faults on electrical equipment and training will be provided if you do not have electrical experience already

    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  

• Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic, Controls & Instrumentation, etc
• A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous
• 18th Edition will be advantageous

    Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge The C&I Technician role would suit someone who has:

• Hands on maintenance experience with Controls and Instrumentation equipment such as PLC/DCS systems, flow sensors, thermocouples, pressure sensors, continuous monitoring emissions systems (CEMS), etc
• Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill, FMCG, etc
• Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity
