  • Strong understanding of document numbering systems, revision control, and metadata management.

The vital EC&I Technician role comes with a salary of £47,239 + up to 10% Bonus + Overtime + Call out payments. Call out system will be 1 in 4 weeks.   • Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment.
  • Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.
  • Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades

  • Supervising and directing on site contractors when required

    Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Ideally have at least an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline such as controls and instrumentation or electrical engineering.
  • 17th / 18th  Edition will be highly advantageous  
  • A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH would be advantageous 
    Experience, knowledge, and personal skills The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who has:
  • Prior experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, Coal, CHP, etc), Pharmaceutical, Chemicals, Steel Production, etc.
  • Having prior experience working with steam generation equipment will be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, Instrumentation and some electrical systems
  • Experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • A time served apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar.
  • A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity
    Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician role would suit someone who has:  
  • Prior electrical/instrumentation maintenance experience in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant, paper mill, FMCG etc
  • Experience maintaining and fault finding on motors, variable speed drives, switchgear and HV/LV systems
  • Experience maintaining instrumentation equipment such as pressure sensors, thermocouples, flow metres, CEMS, etc.
  • A flexible approach to working routines as this is shift work
