  • To contribute to the development, leadership & delivery of the Operational strategy and KPI’s by acting as a link person between Operations and E&M personnel, driving consistency of response and continuity of approach

The Role: Project Management

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Site Chemist to join one of the industry leaders in hazardous waste management solutions across the UK. Working as the Site Chemist, you will be responsible for taking and analysing hazardous waste samples on-site to ensure safe and compliant waste is processed at all times.

The Job

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the hands-on operation of the hazardous waste site ensuring materials coming onto and off site are consistently safe and compliant to site permits and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with compiling lists of wastes to be transferred off site to third party disposal points. Liaising with other staff to ensure correct routing of wastes.
  • Assist with non- conformance procedures and sample processing within the site laboratory for incoming waste streams.
  • Providing services to customers to enable wastes to be assessed, priced and collected
  • Utilise appropriate systems to manage non- compliances.
  • Use of FLT/Dump Truck and other mobile plant as required
  • Assist with the daily/weekly plan for the operational areas and laboratory, adapt to the unplanned and unexpected to deliver targets, KPI’s and other requirements.
  • Ensure house-keeping requirements and continuous improvement programmes are supported both directly and through the plant team.
  • Partake in improvement of process, contributing to micro project development.
  • Undertake area administration activity including Chemist Check sheets, process sheets, stock sheets, production records, etc.

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level as well as experience handling a diverse range of chemical compounds including understanding of inter-reactions.

Some knowledge of hazardous waste or industrial chemistry would be beneficial as well as previous experience working in a site-based role or in an industrial hands-on environment. This role would suit someone looking to further their career within the chemical sector and an interest in moving into the waste management industry. A NEBOSH certificate or IOSH H&S qualification would also be beneficial.

We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join the Service division, offering excellent maintenance and technical support to their customers. This is a varied role which will include onsite service and maintenance up and down the country on large-scale solar assets.                 Roles & Responsibilities Reporting to the Service Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing independent on-site maintenance, and repair of inverters for photovoltaic plant
  • Supporting on large-scale projects products with a focus on high/medium voltage
  • Carrying out training sessions for Field Service Engineers or the client’s partners and provider
  • Analysis of complex faults in PV-plants from office, home or on-site
  • Discussions with the Regional Senior Experts of issues in the market and feedback to central hub
  • Answering and processing incoming customer queries and error messages sent to the centralised service line (ad hoc basis, when required)
  • Providing instant customer support so that issues on solar inverters systems can easily be resolved from a remote location.
  • On an Ad-hoc basis, you will be required to handle services, including managing sub-contractors and site-specific tasks to be flexible and available, should the need arise for weekend on call / standby
    Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • A higher education with an electrical bias, ie degree / HNC / HND and at least 17th edition
  • 3 years’ experience servicing and maintaining inverter or power electronic systems.
  • Ideally has very good knowledge of high voltage and measurement equipment as well as occupational health and safety regulations
  • Previous experience repairing electrical equipment, ideally power electronics.
  • Must be proficient using MS Office and SAP and a basic understanding of IP network technology.
  • Is willing and flexible to travel nationally and attend training in Europe when required.
  • UK driving licence.
  • Has very good English language skills; second language skills would be an asset.

As such they are looking for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Supervisor to join their brand new Polymers Recycling Facility based in Avonmouth.   

Role Responsibilities

As the EC&I Supervisor you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Managing the day to day maintenance activities across the new polymers recycling facility.
  • Supervising a shift team of multi-skilled technicians and contractors to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and ensure work is carried out to the standard required.
  • Driving and implementing all PPM schedules as well as carrying out maintenance, both preventative and breakdown, on all equipment on the site to reduce operational down time.
  • Managing the installations and refurbishments of equipment on-site and supporting initial commissioning services. 
  • Take part in Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to identify the cause of failures and actions to prevent future failures increasing plant up time
  • Communicate shift performance and activities through the shift report and handover process to effectively communicate issues to the management, engineering and production teams
  • Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices

The Ideal Candidates

To be considered for this position you will need to have a recognised Level 3 NVQ/HNC/HND within Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a strong understanding of a variety of controls and instrumentation equipment. 

You will have previous demonstrable experience supervising a team of multi-skilled engineers in an industrial operational facility/industry (ideally Waste Management, Power Generations, Aggregates, Manufacturing, FMCG etc). You will have knowledge of CMMS systems and a good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring as well as strong health and safety knowledge. 

This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern including night shifts. Please only apply if this is suitable.
