  • Main responsibility will be to work within a multi-disciplined team carrying out Rigging duties as specified. 
  • They are responsible for aligning and anchoring the machinery, attaching loads, controlling the movement of heavy equipment, and ensuring the rigging is safe for use.

Commissioning Shift Operator Locations - Leicestershire Duration - 3 months Immediate start Day rate - £450.00 to £500.00 The Role We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Shift Operator to join a fast paced commissioning team on the Waste to Energy facility based in Berkshire. Our client have several live projects within the energy sector in the UK and overseas, so there may be an opportunity to work across more projects with them. Role Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourages and leads this for the project.
  • Ensures that all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and that, in consultation with site management, HSE and commissioning team, HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
  • Ensures that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
  • Is responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under his control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
  • Prepares and issues Permits to Work and system isolations for works within the shift, Mechanical, Process and Electrical (HV and LV preferable SAP authorization)
  • Ensures that works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time requirements
  • Independently operates, monitors and maintains systems according to the scope of responsibility, in the control room and on site
  • Responsible to update and maintain shift logs and maintenance regimes
  • Optimizes processes in collaboration with our clients Commissioning Team.
  • Supervises both the client shift personnel and the work performed by suppliers during operation
  • Executes hands on training with the client personnel
  • Liaises and coordinates with other project team members, in particular the Commissioning Manager and Commissioning Lead Engineers

Responsibilities include:

  • Installation and commissioning of instrumentation
  • Electrical inspection and testing
  • Completion of electrical test certificates
  • Carry out diagnostics and problem solving for electrical and instrument systems
  • Calibration of instrumented systems
  • Acceptance and hand-back of PTWs

You will need to possess experience of electrical installations and a sound knowledge control systems and process instrumentation.

  • Previous EC&I commissioning experience gained within Nuclear projects
  • A proven track record of delivering to set deadlines within an electrical, control and instrumentation team  
  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
