• Coordinate and manage all temporary works on site in accordance with BS 5975.
• Maintain the Temporary Works Register and ensure all temporary works are correctly categorised.
• Review and coordinate temporary works designs, calculations, and approvals.
• Liaise with designers, engineers, subcontractors, and site management teams.
• Ensure Temporary Works Permits are issued, monitored, and closed out appropriately.
• Verify that temporary works are constructed, inspected, and dismantled in accordance with approved designs.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits of temporary works activities.
• Ensure risks associated with excavation support, formwork, falsework, access scaffolding, lifting operations, cofferdams, pipework supports, and temporary structures are effectively managed.
• Chair temporary works coordination meetings and communicate requirements to project teams.
• Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Assist in planning construction activities to minimise operational impacts within live water treatment environments.
• Must hold a TWC CITB, SMSTS and CSCS Card
• EUSR Water Hygiene Card (highly desirable)
• Thames Water Safety Passport (highly desirable)
• Must have experience working on water treatment, wastewater treatment, or utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of temporary works design and construction methodologies.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and engineering disciplines in a live construction environment.

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading principal contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Steel Structure Supervisor on a 12 month minimum contract for its London site. The Steel Structure Supervisor role comes with a day rate of £450.             Key skills

• Lead execution of steel structure works, ensuring compliance with project drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Identify and address potential delays, technical challenges, or resource issues to avoid disruptions.
• Supervise and coordinate the assembly, erection, and installation of steel structures in accordance with NAECI regulations and project specifications.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute tasks effectively.
• Must have experience supervising steel structure erection in infrastructure projects.
• Must also hold an SSSTS / SMSTS and CSCS card.

Astute's Strategic Division are currently recruiting for 2x Civil Engineer to join the EPC Contractor across multiple Renewable Energy projects in the UK on a 6 months contract basis Outside of IR35.

The Civil Engineer position comes with a day rate from £350.00 to £400.00 per day Outside IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Review and provide technical input into civil engineering design packages for multiple BESS and renewable energy projects across the UK.
• Work closely with the Design Manager to review drawings, specifications and calculations, ensuring designs are suitable for construction and meet project requirements.
• Review civil packages covering earthworks, drainage, foundations, access roads, concrete works, ducting, trenches and site infrastructure.
• Act as the key interface between the design and delivery teams, communicating design changes, technical requirements and constructability issues back to site.
• Provide technical support to Site Managers, Construction Managers and subcontractors throughout the construction phase.
• Supervise and inspect civil works on site, ensuring works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and programme requirements.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, technical queries and site issues, coordinating with designers and project teams to minimise delays.
• Support inspections, quality documentation, ITPs, RFIs, NCRs and handover activities, ensuring completed civil works meet EPC and client requirements.

We are currently looking for a Level 3 Site Operative to join one of the leading Waste Management specialists in the UK. Working at their Plastic Recycling Facility in Avonmouth, the Site Operative will be responsible for supporting with the operating, inspecting and maintenance of static and mobile plant on-site.

This role involves working a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern including night shifts, please only apply is this is suitable.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Level 3 Site Operative, you will be responsible for:

• Operation of multiple machines involved in the recycling of plastics, mainly Extruders
• Cleaning and performing basic maintenance tasks on machinery
• Undertaking basic fault finding on machinery
• Occasional cover at other waste facilities as required.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Previous experience of operating mobile plant
• Demonstrable experience working in a production environment (ideally recycling)
• Experience operating an Extruder (desirable)
• Strong understanding of health and safety

• Coordinate civil design deliverables from subcontractors in collaboration with the Lead Civil Engineer
• Ensure designs meet contractual, programme, budget, HSE, and quality requirements
• Manage design interfaces between consultants and internal engineering teams, including scheduling and progress tracking
• Review and assess design submissions for constructability, risk, and technical compliance
• Represent the civil design function in meetings, maintaining clear communication across stakeholders
• Must have a Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture
• Experience working on large-scale civil packages within major projects ideally Energy from Waste or similar. 
• Strong experience in design coordination on industrial, infrastructure, or plant projects
