They are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to provide Quantity Surveying services to support both the delivery and Operations and Maintenance of new and existing Solar PV & Battery Storage projects in the UK. Roles & Responsibilities As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
  • Measuring, quantifying, estimating and negotiating new & existing contract opportunities, variations or claims.
  • Working in partnership with Procurement Manager to draft scope of works, manage tender processes and lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with Contracts Manager to prepare or defend claims and variations with appropriate substantiation.
  • Develop and maintain standards and processes for Quantity Surveying across portfolio of EPC and O&M projects including KPIs to monitor performance.
Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Degree in relevant engineering, commercial or quantity surveying discipline.
  • 3+ years as quantity surveyor or similar role
  • Demonstratable skill in estimating material quantities and costs, tracking spend, budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibility: 

Supporting the delivery of nuclear power plant operating equipment to the client, from external suppliers, through the following activities:

  • Create/amend technical specifications for new equipment scope, utilising expert inputs where applicable.
  • Perform surveillance and approval of contractor deliverables and design activities.
  • Lead contract technical and project meetings
  • Resolution activities for multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries, including input to/ownership of resolving technical Open Points (OP), interface queries and Design Changes (UKDC).
  • Management of technical specialists to perform review of deliverables and to resolve technical issues.
  • Review and approve contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)
  • Liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems/structures
Qualifications

Profile:

  • Understanding of nuclear process and mechanical interfaces (anchorages, civil work, piping, fluids, radioprotection, safety, systems engineering)
  • Good knowledge of Valves 
  • Capable of producing technical specifications
  • Sound understanding of nuclear processing regulations
  • Experience on the design of the EPR TEP/TEU systems, or other nuclear / safety classified tanks, fluid handling systems and mechanical components.
  • Experience of equipment supply contracts and contract forms such as NEC/FIDIC.
