The Role We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join the end Client on the new build Waste to Energy facility based on the Isle of Wight. Our Client is a leading engineering and operations specialist in the renewable energy field, who are constantly growing in the UK market as a leading Client.

As Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will bring demonstrable commissioning experience and practical skills to the commissioning team. Working closely with the Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing and documenting of commissioning and handover activities on the project and programme of works in a safe manner, fully in accordance with company processes, systems, procedures and specifications. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working in collaboration with the construction team, ensuring that mechanical commissioning activities are planned safely and to required quality standards and specifications
  • Providing appropriate support throughout the commissioning phase of the project
  • Updating of commissioning documentation including site reports and assisting with O&M manuals
  • Carrying out and recording of all commissioning tests
  • Liaising with onsite subcontractors where necessary
  • Reporting to the Commissioning Manager and updating relevant personnel on site progress 
  • Adhered to health and safety regulations and reporting any incidents appropriately.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Commissioning experience gained within Energy from Waste, Biomass, and Gasification projects. 
  • Proven track record in a similar role and ability to communicate well at all levels
  • Ability to work well independently and as well as part of a team

The Civil Site Design Coordinator role comes with a day rate of £350-£425.                   Key skills  
  • You are responsible for managing the design processes of subcontractors within the civil works on one of the construction sites in liaison with the Lead Engineer Civil at the Head Office.
  • You are responsible for the civil works to be executed in accordance with the contract, and conform with project time, budget, HSE and quality requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering or architecture with at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Past working experiences with both consultants and contractors is an added advantage.
  • Strong experience in civil project management and design coordination, preferably in large scale civil, industrial or plant business construction projects.
