Astute’s Contract team is partnering with a Civil Construction company to recruit a Site Manager on a 6 month contract for it's Nottinghamshire site.  The Site Manager role comes with a day rate of £400-£500 per day (IR35 determination has not been completed yet – TBC) Start Date: Monday 24th August Working Hours: 7:30-4pm Monday – Friday (plenty of opportunity for weekend work if desired) If you complete a successful 6-month contract, these contracts can become permanent positions. Key Skills required for these roles:    

• Managing daily site operations.
• Coordinating labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Ordering and managing materials.
• Completing and signing off Quality Assurance documentation and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensuring all daily site documentation is completed and uploaded to the SharePoint system.
• Maintaining excellent health, safety and environmental standards.
• Liaising with the client, designers and project management team.
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the approved RAMS, Temporary Works procedures and programme Minimum qualifications required:
• NVQ Level 5 (or above) in Construction Site Management.
• SMSTS.
• First Aid at Work.
• Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS).
• Strong civil engineering and highways experience.

Astute’s Contract team is partnering with a Global Power / Energy business to recruit a BESS Project Manager on an 18-month contract for its site in Hohenhameln, Germany. The BESS Project Manager comes with a day rate of €500-€700 per day, depending on experience. Key skills required for this role:

• Must have worked in large scale BESS projects in Germany
• Have an understanding of HV interconnections
• Experience with TenneT or have had interactions with them in the past (desirable)
• Understanding of TSO connections in Germany (desirable)
• German & English speaking

Qualifications & Certifications required:

• Health & Safety
• Prince 2 (desirable)
• Engineering or Construction degree (or equivalent)
• SCC Certificate

Astute’s Contract team is partnering with a HV Testing & Commissioning Company to recruit for a HV Commissioning Engineer for a 3–4-week initial contract in Wrexham. Once successfully completing this short-term contract, the candidate will be able to move onto other projects taking the contract duration to an additional 3-6 months. The Commissioning Engineer contract comes with a day rate of £500-£550 per day, Outside IR35. There is flexibility for this rate to increase if you have your own cable & testing tools. Accommodation is available too. ASAP start date: 19th August 2026. Key skills required for this role:

• Protection & CT Commissioning
• Secondary Injection – Siprotec Feeder Relays
• Busbar Protection – Siemens 7SR2302
• I/O and Function Testing (all panels)

Working as the Assistant Transfer Station Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the transfer station, ensuring the site is running efficiently, allocating work as appropriate and offering support and training to the site chemists and operators across the site.                   Roles & Responsibilities Reporting to the Transfer Station Manager, you will be responsible for:  

• The day-to-day management of a busy waste transfer station, overseeing a team of operatives, site chemists and drivers.
• Ensure that site operations comply with the site licence, working plans, UK legislation and standard operating procedures. Reviewing site procedures and risk assessments regularly.
• Driving operations in line with company performance targets and budget requirements as well as working in line with customer agreements.
• Managing the on-site team, allocating workload and resources to ensure that the movement of waste is maintained through the site and managed for removal.
• Provide technical support, training and development opportunities to the site chemist and operator teams as well as managing recruitment and new recruits where needed.
• Ensuring that the site is always kept clean in accordance with all site permits.
• Deal with any issues that might arise with operators, contractors, drivers, and visitors.
• Promoting best health and safety practice at all time, liaising with the safety representative regularly.
• Other duties as required.

    Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  

• HNC qualified or equivalent in Chemistry/ Environmental or a related subject
• COTC Level 4 in Managing Transfer or Treatment Operations would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working in a management role across an operational site.
• Strong knowledge and experience working in the waste management sector.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication skills.

• You will be responsible for welding Carbon steel pipe work as well as stainless steel.
• You might be ask to work on larger bore pipework, TIG root, MMA fill and cap
• Have a strong welding background and be comfortable to jump straight on the tools.
• 6G is needed
