  • Manage a team of Engineers and GIS analysts, mentoring and developing the team.

Senior Wind Energy Analyst

Senior Energy Analyst - Wind Scotland / Northern England – Hybrid Working Salary up to £60,000 plus package dependent on experience     Introduction Astute are excited to be partnered with a leading global renewable energy consultancy, who are looking to expand multiple divisions. As part of continued success and growth, our partner is looking to hire a Senior Energy Analyst to join their wind yield analysis team. The key responsibility of the role will be to produce detailed reports based on accurate data and analysis from existing wind farms. The reports will primarily be in support of mergers and acquisitions – by providing detailed analysis on performance data to display commercial value and opportunities in acquiring an existing wind turbine or wind farm, value of asset performance, asset management support and secondarily, feasibility studies for proposed wind farm developments. It is therefore envisioned that the successful candidate will have a background in energy yield analysis, working for a developer, windfarm owner/operator or consultancy in renewable energy and proficient in the use of Python or Python centred packages.                   Roles & Responsibilities Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:
  • Provide data reports and wind energy yield analytical services of existing wind farms, in support of client mergers and acquisitions of operational assets.
  • Additionally, providing the same reporting and data analysis for asset management purposes and feasibility studies for new wind farm proposals – predicted wind energy yield and commercial opportunities.
  • Lead a small team of data analysts, ensuring projects run to schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections of reports to ensure accuracy of compiled data before submission of the reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve upon data collection and/or reporting and presentation methods.
  • Take part in business development opportunities by attending client meetings or attending exhibitions to showcase examples and case studies of our services and completed works.

    Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Demonstrable background in Wind Energy Analysis and report writing, with detailed understanding of the methodologies of energy yield analysis and data interpretation.
  • Proficient in the use of Python, SQL, SCADA and SCADA reporting.
  • Able to program and develop tools using Python.
  • A higher education qualification in mathematics, physics, meteorology or engineering would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Able to lead a small team and delegate responsibilities. Additionally, able to mentor and support junior staff.
  • A commercial awareness of project costs and able to confidently work with external bodies, stakeholders and clients.
  • Due to the travelling and rural locations of our clients and sites, it is essential for the successful candidate to have a Full UK Driving Licence and a willingness to travel both domestically and abroad.
