• Undertake planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements
• Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
• Carry out site surveys requests as required
• Compile accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
• Keep accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, high voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
• Ensure that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
• Comply with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping
• Comply with all aspects of the company’s ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001 / Environmental - ISO 14001 proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme
• Participating in an on-call rota if required
• Travelling throughout your region and perhaps, on the odd occasion, further to provide holiday or sickness cover

  Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:  

• At least a level 2 electrical installation qualification
• Test and inspection certified, C&G 2391
• UK driving licence with, ideally, a clean licence
• Experience servicing and maintaining EV chargers is hugely beneficial
• Good fault-finding experience/knowledge

  Personal skills   The Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who:  

• Enjoys being on the road visiting sites
• Happy with a reasonable amount of lone working

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting 10x Electrician to join a Electrical Main Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester, Cheshire for 4 months (possible extension)

The Electrician position come with an hourly rate from £25 to £26 per hour. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Install containment systems (tray, basket, conduit, trunking)

• Pull, dress, and terminate LV, control, and instrumentation cabling

• Install and connect motors, panels, switchgear, and junction boxes

• Interpret electrical schematics, layout drawings, and cable schedules

• Perform inspections and pre-commissioning checks in line with QA protocols

• Work with the site team and supervisors to deliver tasks safely and on time

Working directly with the Principal Contractor, you will play a key role in monitoring project expenditure, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting forecasting and reporting activities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s critical energy infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Track and record all project expenditures, including validating invoices from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Assist in maintaining and updating cash flow forecasts and profit & loss statements using internal Excel tools
• Allocate purchase orders correctly to WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) categories and assist in managing the project budget
• Support the preparation of both monthly financial reports and ad-hoc reporting for senior management
• Work closely with site teams to support financial administration and cost control processes

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and project finance principles
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction site environment
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills

Desirable:

• Experience on large-scale construction or energy/infrastructure projects
