About Amanda McVicker:

Recruiters get a bad reputation in our industry, and often it's absolutely deserved, as with many commission-based business models. They prioritize butts in seats, mass-mailing, and anything they can do to improve the number of matches rather than the quality of them. That is absolutely not the experience I had with Amanda. Throughout the process her communication was timely and clear. Her cold-message on LinkedIn (I typically ignore those) was written in a way that indicated that she'd actually read my profile and found a job that really fit my skills and interest areas, and she included the relevant details including the salary range so I could immediately decide if the role was worth a conversation. The best talent I know all ignore messages with no range posted, so I can't possibly express what a difference that makes. She was clear and responsive when I had questions (even outside business hours), was willing to liaise my questions to the right people without any delay wherever necessary, she has obviously spent time sharpening her baseline knowledge about the industry and how these jobs work enough to have a very effective screening call with the people who do them, and (most importantly) she got me a job. If all recruiters worked like this, the reputation among good talent in the industry would be stellar and everyone would be trying to find one. I hope to stay with my new employer for a long time, but if for whatever reason it becomes time to move on, I will return to Tier4 and will ask for Amanda by name.
