Barry contacted me via LinkedIn about the possibility of returning to a position I previously held with a large utility company. After giving it some thought, I reached out and provided him with the details he requested and he submitted all my materials to the hiring manager (someone I knew from working with them previously). I assume they were not interested in having me back because he essentially ghosted me - even when I specifically requested that he let me know if this was the case - as I suspected it might be. Not because of my work product, but due more to personality and overall department culture. It was the lack of any type of follow-up that was disappointing. Instead of seeing if there were other roles, with other organizations, that might be a better fit, he decided to disappear. This is a perfect example of why I prefer not to work with recruiters.
