  • Responsible for the design, build and support of custom data acquisition and control systems. Requires the ability to work with other Engineering Product areas and various Test Laboratories to provide solutions that are not readily available commercially.
  • The candidate will generally have full project responsibility from requirements gathering, specification creation, project resourcing and timing, design (hardware and/or software), build, commissioning and support.

  • Design and develop interior components such as instrument panels, consoles, and seating systems from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, ergonomics, and supplier engineering.
  • Create and manage 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using tools such as CATIA or NX.
  • Ensure designs meet clients engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and validation planning.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and launch activities.
  • Interface with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost targets are met.  
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in automotive interior design engineering.
  • Experience with Plastic Injection Molding design 
  • Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX preferred).
  • Familiarity with Ford’s product development processes and systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
