  • The Development & Validation Engineer for Automatic Transmission, Driveline and/or Gear Reducers is responsible for designing, developing, and validating components and systems.
  • Work closely with other engineer groups interacting with the transmission, including - but not limited to - transmission & Driveline hardware, software, calibration, thermal management, engine engineering organizations.
  • The D&V Test Engineer is also responsible for test execution to ensure functional objectives and durability goals are met.

  • At least 8 years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Gear Reducer design, development, calibration or controls

  • Preferred candidates will hold a Masters degree in Engineering and/or have experience in transmission design, development, and testing
  • Specific experience with software, calibration, transmission efficiency and/or thermal management is desired
  • An understanding of transmission operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components is desired

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of WHS training through feedback, performance metrics, and innovative learning methods (e.g., e-learning, simulations, hands-on workshops).
  • Regulatory and Standards Alignment: Support the WHS organizations implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (e.g., ISO 45001) and Stellantis Production Way (SPW) safety practices as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with leadership, HR, and plant WHS teams to align training strategies with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Audit and Evaluation: Participate in WHS audits and inspections. Evaluate training outcomes and recommend improvements based on audit findings and employee feedback.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in occupational health & safety, Risk Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in training management and data analysis within a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required to support business operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise risk management tools or platforms 7
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, Provincial, and Local health and safety regulations, including OSHA, WSIB, and other applicable standards
  • Professional safety and risk certifications such a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
  • Demonstrated experience in in a corporate health and safety, or industrial safety within a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Masters Degree in Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools for risk trend analysis and reporting

  • Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
  • Lead cross-functional decisions with Ford & Supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues.
  • Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers
  • Principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations
  • Lead adherence to Ford standards (i.e.Q1)
  • Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites
  • Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP)
  • Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality
