What You’ll Do:

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing thorough safety checks of the forklift before operation to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Monitoring fluid levels, including oil, water, and fuel, prior to using the lift.
  • Ensuring packaging lines are stocked with empty pallets and communicating inventory needs to the supervisor.
  • Safely removing palletized bags from production lines and transporting them to the stretch-wrapper.
  • Operating the stretch-wrapper, changing the stretch film as needed.
  • Stacking palletized goods in designated rows safely and effectively, while protecting other inventory from damage.
  • Actively contributing to plant cleanliness by re-stacking, picking up debris, and maintaining equipment.
  • Reading Bills of Lading (BOLs) accurately and loading carriers’ trucks with the correct quantities and SKUs.
  • Communicating any discrepancies found on BOLs to the dispatcher or office personnel.
  • Conducting physical inventory counts of finished goods as required.
  • Performing various additional tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Proven ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to climb on and off required equipment and to sit for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey information.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Basic reading and writing skills to follow instructions and read English.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including dust, heat, cold, and rain.
