As a Welder / Fabricator, you’ll be essential in assembling and fabricating heavy metal components used in infrastructure and industrial projects. You’ll work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and meet production deadlines, supporting the creation of vital industrial equipment.
What You’ll Do:
As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for:
- Positioning, aligning, fitting, and welding metal components to create complete assemblies in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
- Reading and interpreting detailed blueprints, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs) to guide fabrication work.
- Setting up and operating fabrication equipment such as brakes, shears, grinders, drill presses, and cutting tools to precisely shape materials.
- Performing MIG welding on steel components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, ensuring strong and durable welds.
- Measuring, marking, and calculating materials for cutting, bending, and fabrication tasks.
- Using precision measuring tools like tape measures, squares, and gauges to verify dimensions and quality.
- Monitoring welding processes to prevent overheating, distortion, or defects, maintaining strict quality standards.
- Inspecting finished welds and assemblies to confirm they meet safety and quality specifications.
- Moving materials and completed components safely using forklifts or overhead cranes.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- At least 2 years of welding and metal fabrication experience, with a focus on MIG welding.
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding techniques and the ability to produce clean, high-quality welds.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints with accuracy.
- Experience working with steel and heavy metal assemblies in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with fabrication equipment and shop tools.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing precise, high-quality work.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic, focused on safety and teamwork.
