We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Brownsville to carry out various tasks in a busy warehouse. The Maintenance Supervisor has the responsibility to coordinate and execute maintenance of the Brownsville Plant. As well as ensuring safety of the company and contract personnel through use of best safety practices.

Duties and Responsibilities for Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Responsible for the maintenance operations concerned with the installation and repair of all machinery and other mechanical and electrical equipment used in the production operation.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure safe working conditions, minimal production downtime, and equipment sustainability
  • Maintain inventories and order parts, as needed, for equipment
  • Consult, obtain bids, and work closely with outside contractors
  • Supervise and train Millwrights and LME apprentice to troubleshoot all equipment on plant site
  • Manage and participate in the rebuild or repair of pellet mills, conveyors, screws, gearboxes, chains using hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Prioritize and delegate maintenance schedules and activities, track production down time, schedule maintenance days and weekend projects
  • Drive improvement in all maintenance systems by learning and supporting the Maintenance Excellence program
  • Provide regular reports to Plant Manager regarding safety and maintenance concerns and projects
  • Participate in employee performance management, hiring, disciplinary and termination meetings

Skills and Qualifications of the Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) card preferred
  • Journeyman Millwright card preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in journeyman level millwright or equivalent experience
  • PLC knowledge a plus
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts
  • Project planning & implementation, PM program experience, and supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience developing/implementation/managing PM programs preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
