Job Title: Field Millwright

Pay: $25-$32/hr + DOE; additional $2-$3/hr if overhead crane certified! Hours: Up to 6 days/week, 12 hrs/day; 40+ hours regularly Projected Start Date: 12/01/2026

As a Field Millwright in Oregon, you will play a crucial role in constructing and maintaining custom industrial structures that drive efficiency and innovation.

What You’ll Do:

As a Field Millwright, you will be responsible for:
  • Installing machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other designs in various industrial settings.
  • Dismantling machines using torches, hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Transporting machinery and equipment with cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Assembling and installing equipment like shafting, conveyors, and tram rails using welders along with hand and power tools.
  • Constructing foundations for machinery using building materials such as wood, cement, and steel, utilizing hand tools effectively.
  • Aligning machines and equipment through the use of hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Assembling machines by bolting, welding, riveting, or otherwise fastening them to foundations or other structures.
  • Repairing and lubricating machines and equipment as needed.
  • Selecting and attaching cables, ropes, pulleys, and blocks to overhead structures for effective hoisting.
  • Rigging hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches and performing splicing of ropes and wire cables for slings and tackle.

What You’ll Bring:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, with preference given to candidates with backgrounds in wood products, lumber, or the mill industry.
  • Proficient ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings for efficient work execution.
  • Experience operating engine lathes to grind, file, and turn machine parts to precise specifications.

Location & Schedule:
