Job Title: Production Planner and Project Manager – Urgently Hiring!

We are seeking a Production Planner and Project Manager for a direct-hire position with our client, a manufacturing company located in Albany, Oregon. The Production Planner and Project Manager will serve as the bridge between Sales, Engineering, and Production. Success in this role means reducing waste, minimizing errors, and ensuring on-time delivery of both customer jobs and internal projects through disciplined planning and proactive coordination. As a Production Planner and Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Reviewing new job orders to confirm all necessary documentation and details are complete
• Flagging and resolving any missing or unclear information before work proceeds
• Finalizing work order instructions based on estimates or proposals
• Coordinating with sales, engineering, and operations teams to review job requirements
• Keeping accurate records of changes to job instructions and process change requests
• Scheduling and release work orders according to production priorities and available capacity
• Requesting purchase orders for needed materials and outside services
• Leading internal kickoff meetings for significant projects
• Maintaining and updating project timelines and milestones
• Sharing schedule updates and progress reports with leadership and key team members
• Monitoring workflow to identify potential issues early and help resolve them quickly

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, job planning, or scheduling systems 
• Project management experience or training 
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
• Knowledge of Gantt charting or project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet 
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
