This role demands precision, a deep understanding of welding techniques, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will work with a variety of metals, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, using techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW). You will be expected to set up and operate fabrication equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure finished products meet the highest standards of quality and durability.

As a Welder and Fabricator, you will be responsible for:

Fabrication & Welding

  • Read, interpret, and execute detailed blueprints, CAD drawings, welding symbols, and shop sketches to determine material specifications and welding requirements.

  • Utilize a variety of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core, to weld, cut, and assemble metal components.

  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, drilling, and shaping metal using saws, torches, and plasma cutters.

  • Align and fit parts to exact measurements, ensuring all components meet design tolerances and specifications.

  • Apply appropriate welding techniques for different metals, adjusting heat, speed, and filler materials accordingly.

  • Perform structural and precision welding on frames, beams, brackets, piping, and other metal assemblies.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate and maintain a variety of fabrication equipment, including CNC plasma cutters, press brakes, shears, grinders, drill presses, and welding machines.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding and fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, squares, and protractors to confirm dimensions and tolerances.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on completed welds to ensure they meet industry and project standards (AWS, ASME, or other applicable codes).

  • Identify and correct welding defects such as porosity, cracks, undercutting, and incomplete fusion.

Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) when required to verify weld integrity.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.

  • Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW).

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols accurately.

  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, welding metallurgy, and heat treatment.

  • Experience operating and maintaining fabrication shop tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and press brakes.

  • Strong knowledge of structural welding, sheet metal fabrication, and pipe welding.

  • Understanding of welding safety protocols and ability to work in high-heat environments.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
