Remote Medical Economics Analyst HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Medical Economics Analyst to fill an opening with one of the nation’s largest managed care organizations. This is a primarily remote role with an in-office expectation once a month outside of training. Daily Responsibilities for Medical Economics Analyst: 
  • The Medical Economics Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting and advising the Medical Economics team by delving into critical business matters concerning costs, utilization, and revenue across all products within the health plan.
  • Your responsibilities include crafting and refining reports to track product performance and pinpoint the underlying factors driving medical cost trends.
  • By identifying these root causes, you will spearhead innovation efforts by devising tools to monitor trend drivers and offering strategic recommendations to mitigate cost escalations.
  • Additionally, you will construct financial models to assess the financial implications of healthcare management program adjustments or alterations to provider contracts.
Required Qualifications for Medical Economics Analyst: 
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare or managed care with experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and/or Medical Cost Management & Analysis
  • Must have recent managed care or health insurance experience
  • Work experience with SAS and/or SQL where you have created queries, pulled large data sets and performed data manipulations/analysis
  • Advance knowledge with Excel
  • Requires analytical work experience within the healthcare industry (i.e. hospitals, network, ancillary, medical facilities, healthcare vendor, commercial health insurance company, large physician practices, managed care organization, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
