The Project Site Manager will be leading the end Client team for this project, overseeing all site activities from cradle to grave. Role Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourages and leads the full project teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
• Has overall responsibility for ensuring Company HSEQ Management Systems are maintained, reviewed and implemented on site and that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable.
• Manages the every day Construction of the project.
• Contributes experience of putting into effect standardised methods in order to identify complex problems
• Develops guidelines and requirements
• Ensures that project is built on time and within budget.
• Collaborates within site and project team organisation and specialist departments
• Documents and traces non-conformities, deviations and claims
• Schedules final erection inspections
• Provides overall assurance that actions arising from HSEQ inspections and audits are completed, closed and effective
• Co-operates and exchanges experience with colleagues responsible for products and other project teams and departments
• Progresses change requests (technical, time and costs)
• Establishes lessons learned for current and future projects
• Acts as point of contact for contractor's management
• Establishes and monitors key milestones
• Work closely with the EPC team on site.

• Is aware of the HSE requirements relevant to their role, and implements and complies with them

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree or HNC/HND in building engineering, civil engineering or construction related subject or alternatively experience working in the Wind Sector / construction industry.
• Vast experience with overseeing the build and delivery of large-scale Wind Farms in the UK.
• Institute of Civil Engineering (ICE) (desirable)
• Several years‘ experience 
• Experienced in the co-ordination of contracts and contract management
• Experienced as a leader in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management and has knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal requirements
• Must have Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent
• Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite applications.

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting a Construction Manager to join the end Client on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in London. The successful candidate will be work closely with the Project Manager to successfully deliver the project on time and within budget. The Project Construction Manager position comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £600.00 per day outside IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Lead site-based construction activities for an Energy from Waste facility, ensuring compliance with programme, budget, and quality targets.

• Manage and coordinate multiple contractors and disciplines across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes specific to EfW technologies (e.g., incinerators, flue gas treatment, turbines).

• Apply deep knowledge of EfW processes (e.g., thermal treatment, energy recovery, emissions systems) to oversee technical installation and sequencing.

• Ensure strict adherence to UK HSE regulations, including safe handling of waste materials, confined spaces, and high-temperature equipment.

• Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges unique to EfW environments, including odour control, environmental containment, and emissions compliance.

• Maintain rigorous QA/QC procedures for all EfW systems, including waste bunkers, boiler houses, steam lines, and flue gas scrubbers.

Astute's Renewables Team are currently recruiting a Technical Manager to lead and coordinate the design function across a portfolio of renewable energy projects. You will provide technical oversight, ensure compliance with grid connection requirements, and act as the primary liaison between internal design teams, consultants, and external stakeholders including Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), ICPs, and regulatory bodies on a 12 months contract basis with an immediate start.

The day rate for the Technical Manager is from £550.00 to £650.00 per day outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  

• Oversee and coordinate all technical design activities across multiple renewable energy projects (solar PV, wind, BESS, hybrid systems).

• Manage internal and external design teams (e.g., electrical, civil, structural, grid, and SCADA engineers).

• Act as the primary technical interface with DNOs, National Grid, and third-party ICPs, ensuring timely and accurate grid connection applications and approvals.

• Review, challenge, and approve design deliverables including SLDs, load flow studies, G99/G100 submissions, and cable layouts.

• Ensure all designs meet regulatory standards (e.g., G99, ENA ER, BS/IEC standards) and project requirements.

• Lead design reviews and HAZID/HAZOP workshops during pre-construction and construction phases.

• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure design intent is followed on-site.

The Electrician positions come with an hourly rate from £22.00 to £23.00 per hour. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  

• Carry out installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems on a large-scale waste-to-energy construction project

• Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents to ensure accurate installations

• Install containment systems (tray, basket, conduit, trunking) and wire circuits in line with project specifications

• Perform electrical testing and inspection in accordance with current regulations and site procedures

• Ensure all work complies with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)

• Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors on-site to maintain project timelines and safety standards

• Adhere strictly to site health and safety protocols, including RAMS and permit-to-work systems

Astute's Renewables Team are currently recruiting a 132KV Senior Authorised Person to join the Electrical Main Contractor on a new build Data Centre in Hertfordshire for 12 months.

The day rate for the 132KV Senior Authorised Person is from £550.00 to £650.00 per day outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  

• Act as the SAP for 132kV systems under company and DNO/IDNO authorisation.

• Carry out switching operations, issue safety documents (PTW, SFT, LOA), and ensure all HV works are executed safely.

• Supervise and coordinate HV commissioning activities, including protection testing, cable terminations, and system energisation.

• Liaise with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives to ensure HV milestones are achieved.

• Ensure all work is carried out in line with statutory regulations, industry standards, and internal HSEQ policies.

• Maintain up-to-date HV records, test results, and safety documentation.

Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with a Leading Sub-Contractor within the UK Power Industry to recruit 2x Riggers on 8 month contracts for their Waste to Energy facility based in Cheshire The Riggers will come with an hourly rate from £25.00 to £27.00.     Key skills and responsibilities:   

• Main responsibility will be to work within a multi-disciplined team carrying out Rigging duties as specified. 
• They are responsible for aligning and anchoring the machinery, attaching loads, controlling the movement of heavy equipment, and ensuring the rigging is safe for use.
• Working closely with the Health and Safety professionals on site to coordinator planned lifting of heavy equipment.
• Assemble temporary equipment such as scaffolding, Pre-cast fascades and other temporary works alongside the TWC coordinator on site.
• Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.

Commissioning Shift Operator Locations - Leicestershire Duration - 3 months Immediate start Day rate - £450.00 to £500.00 The Role We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning Shift Operator to join a fast paced commissioning team on the Waste to Energy facility based in Berkshire. Our client have several live projects within the energy sector in the UK and overseas, so there may be an opportunity to work across more projects with them. Role Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourages and leads this for the project.
• Ensures that all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and that, in consultation with site management, HSE and commissioning team, HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
• Ensures that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
• Is responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under his control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
• Prepares and issues Permits to Work and system isolations for works within the shift, Mechanical, Process and Electrical (HV and LV preferable SAP authorization)
• Ensures that works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time requirements
• Independently operates, monitors and maintains systems according to the scope of responsibility, in the control room and on site
• Responsible to update and maintain shift logs and maintenance regimes
• Optimizes processes in collaboration with our clients Commissioning Team.
• Supervises both the client shift personnel and the work performed by suppliers during operation
• Executes hands on training with the client personnel
