Site Manager
Duration - 24 months Location - Eye, Suffolk Day Rate - £430.00 - £440.00 per day Start date - April 2023. The Role We are recruiting a Site Manager for a new build OCGT based in Eye, Suffolk. The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing all construction actives including design for the Principal Contractor. The Site Manage will require an extensive understanding of Power Station construction, Commercial Management, Planning and Health & Safety. Reporting to the Technical Director the Site Manager will be responsible for: - All construction actives under CDM regulation (2015) - Design coordination - Commercial responsibilities associated with construction - Stakeholder management of client, internal and subcontractor - HSE responsibility - Commissioning and handover Experience of Power Station construction is essential, but specifically CCGT or OCGT wold be advantageous. A degree in an Engineering discipline would be ideal and the successful candidate must have evidential experience of working under CDM regulations. The successful candidate will be work closely with the Operational team on site, operating and maintaining the DCS system on shift.
The DSC Contract Operator position comes with a day rate from £350.00 to £400.00 per day outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:Operate and monitor the plant via the Distributed Control System (DCS) from the central control room.
Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility, including waste combustion, steam generation, and electricity production.
Maintain optimal combustion conditions and adjust plant parameters to ensure stable and efficient performance.
Identify and respond promptly to alarms, faults, and abnormal conditions using the DCS.
Liaise with field operators and engineering teams to coordinate operational activities and planned maintenance.
Record operational data and prepare shift logs, reports, and incident records as required.
Ensure strict compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations.
Support the Shift Team Leader and act as a key point of control room operations during your shift.
Proven experience operating a DCS system on an Energy from Waste (EfW) or similar heavy process facility.
Previous experience on a CNIM WTE plant is highly desirable.
Knowledge or direct experience with Martin moving grate combustion systems is desirable.
Strong understanding of process operations, including steam and power generation.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a control room environment as part of a rotating shift team.

The successful candidate will be work closely with the O&M Manager on site to provide expert input into the thermal process design, combustion systems, and steam/water cycle performance optimisation. Also, we are looking for someone who can drive improvements with the energy recovery, flue gas emissions, and combustion efficiency
The Principal Process Engineer position comes with a day rate from £500.00 per day to £650.00 per day outside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:Act as the technical authority for process engineering on an operational Energy from Waste (EfW) facility.
Provide expert input into the thermal process design, combustion systems, and steam/water cycle performance optimisation.
Lead root cause analysis and implement improvements for plant performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Support day-to-day operational issues with deep process understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, flue gas treatment, and materials handling.
Drive improvements in energy recovery, flue gas emissions, and combustion efficiency.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical leadership and coaching across the team.
Support plant modifications, upgrades, and optimisation projects from a process engineering perspective.
Liaise with external stakeholders, OEMs, and engineering consultants on technical performance reviews.
Ensure process compliance with environmental permits, health & safety regulations, and best industry practices.
Develop, review, and approve mass & energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, control philosophies, and risk assessments.
Degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven track record (10+ years) as a Principal or Senior Process Engineer in an operational EfW, biomass, or thermal power environment.
In-depth knowledge of combustion systems, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and steam turbine operation.
