Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting a Project Controls Manager to join the end Client on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in London. The successful candidate will be work closely with the Project Manager and site team to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, maintain accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and change control processes for the project.
The Project Controls Manager position comes with a day rate from £550.00 per day to £600.00 per day outside of IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and cost forecasts using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Implement and manage robust project controls systems, tools, and governance frameworks.
- Lead on earned value analysis (EVA), schedule performance reviews, and cost variance reporting.
- Maintain accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and change control processes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, delivery partners, and contractors to ensure alignment on programme status and updates.
- Identify and manage project risks, providing mitigation strategies and updates to senior leadership.
- Provide timely reporting and insights to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and project-specific controls procedures.
- Strong track record in project controls roles within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (WtE, EFW, power generation, or heavy civils preferred).
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost management tools (e.g. SAP, Excel, or similar.
- Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- APM, PMI, or equivalent project controls certification is advantageous.
