HOW TO DEFINE YOUR PURPOSE Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit a Head of Project Management.   Reporting to the Head of PMO, the Head of PM will be primarily responsible for effectively managing the Project Management organisation to ensure the business needs are satisfied in relation to project delivery across the BLs. In particular, you will ensure that the Project Management capacitiy and capabilitiy are sufficiently developed and matured to deliver value to our customers and mitigate business risks for Framatome Ltd. Our business is delivered through projects and as such is requiring a very strong Project Management and culture. As part of our growth, we have reinforced this aspect of the business creating a PMO organisation encompassing:
  • The line management of senior PMs and PMs;
  • The line management of the Project Control team (incl. cost, schedule, risks, document management).
  • The ownership of the Project related processes and reporting (for both management and control of projects) and associated tools/systems.
  • The governance and assurance supporting the delivery of projects to the Operational Business Lines (BL).
  • The implementation of tools and data supporting the overall resource planning of the business (between resource needs and business needs).
As such the Head of PM will be a senior driver to develop a strong and integrated project management culture across Framatome Ltd in the UK. The Head of PM will work closely:
  • With the Head of PMO and Heads of BL to identify and allocate PMs to the projects related to their respective portfolio and adapt the PM resources to the needs of the business.
  • With the Head of PMO to develop the integrated Project Management practices within the company.
  • With QHSE team to ensure the Project processes are documented, implemented and records are maintained according to our IMS and other Project Management requirements.
  • With resource managers to identify future technical and supporting resourcing requirements to allow adequate time for competence development.
    Your responsibilities The Head of PM will directly:
  • Manage the project management team and ensure adequate resources and training is provided to deliver our projects and mitigate the risks for the company.
  • Provide input to HR team regarding Project resource needs based on their assessment of up-coming projects and contracts.
  • Coordinate with Sales team to support winning proposals to our customers leveraging our strong Project Management culture.
  • Organise the project review processes enabling the COO and Head of BL to assess the project performances (individually and at portfolio level).
  • Develop and follow-up implementation of action plans in relation to project management processes, tools and systems.
  • Provide the business with the assurance and governance that projects are managed according to the set standards for the business in relation to their complexity and risk for the business.
  • Support the COO and BL management in making decisions related to the projects needs based on their current performance to ensure future objectives are realised
  • Act as a point of escalation for customer queries on project related matters in support to Head of BL
  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Required Attributes:  
  • Experience in highly regulated industries. Experience of Nuclear industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing complex projects and/or programs and/or project portfolios from a delivery perspective (vast experience)
  • Management of PM teams and experience of planning resources, workload management. (Vast experience)
  • Strong knowledge and experience of implementing of project processes, systems, and tools and understanding of finance, budget, and project accounting. Project management Certification (PMQ, working toward PPQ or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001,19443) and working knowledge of IMS systems
  • Technical knowledge of some area of the business (engineering, manufacturing, supply of equipment, site management)
  • Have very good understanding of finance, budget, and cost management
  • A comprehensive understanding of the health, safety and environmental requirements of managing project (incl. CDM regulation)

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a Principal Contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Senior Authorised Person on a 12-month contract for its Scotland site.    The SAP role comes with a day rate of £500.00.      Key skills 
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ). Actively encouraging and leading teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements.
  • Ensure that relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and, in consultation with site management, HSE and Commissioning team, that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable.
  • Ensure that adequate precautions are taken to provide safety from the system whilst construction / commissioning work is carried out.
