Now is an ideal time to join the power station as you’ll be involved in full plant commissioning, training & mobilisation. We are looking for a Shift Team Leader to join the Operations Team on this brand new facility. As the Shift Team Leader you’ll be involved in the supervision of the Operations Team including Shift Operators and Fuel Operators ensuring safe & efficient operation of the plant. There will be a focus on improving efficiency & plant performance to meet contractual obligations in terms of availability & power production.   • Responsible for supervising shift teams to ensure the safe & efficient operation of the plant, organising shift cover when needed.
  • Directing duties from the control room, overseeing plant inspections, adjustments, environmental compliance and overall site Health & Safety.
  • Managing the sites safety systems including the permit to work system and acting as a Senior Authorised Person for the purpose of applying the safe system of work including carrying out isolations, issuing permits, switching and earthing.
  • Carrying out (and develop) risk assessments and will be working closely with the management team to improve and minimise the impacts at the Energy from Waste Plant.
  • Routine testing to ensure emergency safety and environmental procedures and recording information as required.
  • Provide training & mentoring to facility staff and take an active part in their personal development plans.
      Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A recognised qualification in an engineering field at HNC level or higher; other qualifications below this will be considered with extensive experience
  • Ideally qualified with an IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent with an appreciation of workplace Health & Safety including knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, LOTO, Isolations, SOP's, RAMS would also be considered.
  • Ideally a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
      Personal skills The Shift Team Leader would suit someone with:
  • At least five years supervisory or leadership experience or able to demonstrate extensive leadership qualities.
  • Qualified to act as a Senior Authorised Person / SAP for all HV Switching activities.
  • Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in an industry such as Energy from Waste, Biomass, Coal, CCGT, Nuclear / Power Generation, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas etc ideally with Steam Raising plant.
  • Marine Engineers from Merchant Fleet or Royal Navy will be considered.
  • Experience in leading a team of Process Operators / Technicians.
  • Involvement in plant mobilisation and commissioning is desirable but not essential.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced on-site Operations Manager to join one of the leading Waste Management specialists working within the Hazardous Waste sector across the UK. They are looking for an Operations Manager to join their established team at their processing facility in Paisley to support their hazardous waste treatment operations and industrial cleaning services, supporting the daily running of the site and its teams.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising the safe, compliance and commercially sound day to day running of a busy hazardous waste treatment facility.
  • The overall supervision of all waste acceptance operations, including the recording and monitoring of waste inputs, the full processing operation, and the movement of waste off-site.
  • Ensuring complete site compliance within environmental permits, operating licences and waste regulations as well as managing all health and safety on-
  • Provide Health and Safety leadership on site. Including championing and driving the Health and Safety culture across all site staff and visitors.
  • Supervision of the plant and equipment, ensuring they are maintained and operated in line with regulations and company policy.
  • Support all teams on-site, managing both the administration function and the site chemist functions as part of the site compliance package. Ensuring lab techniques are maintained to industry standards and waste reception inputs are managed.
  • Support team development and highlight training requirements where necessary, creating, and leading continuous improvement programmes.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the customer base, acting as the escalation point of contact for the assessment and delivery of customer requirements.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Previous operations management/supervisory experience, ideally within the Waste Management or Hazardous Waste Industry.
  • A HND qualification or equivalent in Chemistry and have a good understanding of chemistry/chemical management and industrial services.
  • COTC Level 4 in the Treatment and Transfer of Hazardous Waste and ideally hold an IOSH certification.
  • In-depth understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance and be flexible in your attitude to work.

Energy Recovery Facilities are vital in supporting the UK’s ambition to reduce waste in an efficient and effective manner, helping to reduce the impact of waste on climate change. After reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible, our Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) provide the infrastructure to efficiently recover energy from residual waste, meaning landfill becomes the last resort. 

 

We have an opportunity in Bargeddie for an Operations Manager to join our team. working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

The salary for this role will be £60,850.00 per year, plus participation in a yearly bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

 

 

 

About the role

As our Operations Manager, you will provide leadership of the site to drive safety, compliance and a best in class performance. Leading by example, you’ll promote a positive working environment for all employees.

 

Utilising team resource, you’ll plan and deliver both production requirements and maintenance strategy efficiently to deliver budget and targets and ensure that maximum plant availability and upkeep of site infrastructure is achieved.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll collaborate to drive the site forward and implement sustainable process and system improvements. You’ll have demonstrable experience of processing plant operation and line managing a team.

 

What we are we looking for?

  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
