Project Site Manager Start date - February 2023 Day Rate - £600.00 to £650.00 Duration - 24 months Location - Ayrshire The Role We are currently recruiting for a Project Site Manager to over the build of a 200MW Wind Farm based in Ayrshire. The Project Site Manager will be leading the end Client team for this project, overseeing all site activities from cradle to grave. Role Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourages and leads the full project teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
• Has overall responsibility for ensuring Company HSEQ Management Systems are maintained, reviewed and implemented on site and that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable.
• Manages the every day Construction of the project.
• Contributes experience of putting into effect standardised methods in order to identify complex problems
• Develops guidelines and requirements
• Ensures that project is built on time and within budget.
• Collaborates within site and project team organisation and specialist departments
• Documents and traces non-conformities, deviations and claims
• Schedules final erection inspections
• Provides overall assurance that actions arising from HSEQ inspections and audits are completed, closed and effective
• Co-operates and exchanges experience with colleagues responsible for products and other project teams and departments
• Progresses change requests (technical, time and costs)
• Establishes lessons learned for current and future projects
• Acts as point of contact for contractor's management
• Establishes and monitors key milestones
• Work closely with the EPC team on site.
• Delivers Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects
• Is aware of the HSE requirements relevant to their role, and implements and complies with them

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree or HNC/HND in building engineering, civil engineering or construction related subject or alternatively experience working in the Wind Sector / construction industry.
• Vast experience with overseeing the build and delivery of large-scale Wind Farms in the UK.
• Institute of Civil Engineering (ICE) (desirable)
• Several years‘ experience 
• Experienced in the co-ordination of contracts and contract management
• Experienced as a leader in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management and has knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal requirements
• Must have Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent
• Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite applications.

Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with a Leading Sub-Contractor within the UK Power Industry to recruit 2x Riggers on 8 month contracts for their Waste to Energy facility based in Cheshire The Riggers will come with an hourly rate from £25.00 to £27.00.     Key skills and responsibilities:   

• Main responsibility will be to work within a multi-disciplined team carrying out Rigging duties as specified. 
• They are responsible for aligning and anchoring the machinery, attaching loads, controlling the movement of heavy equipment, and ensuring the rigging is safe for use.
• Working closely with the Health and Safety professionals on site to coordinator planned lifting of heavy equipment.
• Assemble temporary equipment such as scaffolding, Pre-cast fascades and other temporary works alongside the TWC coordinator on site.
• Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.
• Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
• Valid CSCS certificate
• OSHA qualification

We are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to join one of the Main Contractors to deliver major electricity transmission infrastructure packages as part of the Great Grid Partnership (GGP). This role is based in Birmingham

The Design Manager position comes with a day rate from £400.00 per day Inside of IR35. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Lead and coordinate the design delivery of major electricity transmission infrastructure packages as part of the Great Grid Partnership (GGP).
• Manage the design process from initial development through detailed design and construction, ensuring designs are buildable, compliant and delivered to programme.
• Coordinate with design consultants, engineering disciplines, construction teams and key stakeholders across a complex multi-partner alliance environment.
• Provide technical oversight across HV transmission, substation and associated civil/infrastructure works, ensuring interfaces between disciplines are effectively managed.
• Manage design reviews, technical queries, design changes and approvals, maintaining clear visibility of outstanding actions and programme risks.
• Work closely with construction and project management teams to ensure design information is available ahead of site requirements and supports efficient delivery.
• Identify and manage design risks, opportunities and constructability issues, challenging designs where appropriate to improve safety, cost and programme performance.
• Ensure designs comply with National Grid requirements, applicable engineering standards, CDM Regulations and project-specific technical specifications.
• Monitor design programme performance, deliverables and consultant outputs, providing regular updates to senior project stakeholders and escalating potential delays.
• Ideally bring previous experience delivering design on National Grid, electricity transmission, HV substations, utilities or other major infrastructure projects, with strong multidisciplinary design management experience.

Astute's Strategic Division are currently recruiting for 2x HV AP's to join the EPC Contractor on a new build Data Centre in Central Belgium on an initial 6 months contract basis.

The HV AP positions come with a day rate from €500.00 to €650.00 per day AOR / EOR. Accommodation will be provided. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  

• Act as an HV Authorised Person (AP) on a major new-build Data Centre project in Central Belgium, supporting the safe delivery and energisation of HV electrical systems.
• Carry out and oversee HV switching, isolation, earthing and energisation activities in accordance with site Electrical Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work.
• Hold previous AP authorisation up to 33kV, with strong practical experience operating and controlling HV electrical systems.
• Prepare, issue, manage and close relevant Permits to Work, isolation documentation, LOTO and other electrical safety documentation.
• Support the testing, commissioning and energisation of HV switchgear, transformers, cabling and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Review RAMS, switching schedules and electrical drawings/SLDs, ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with project procedures.
• Previous experience working as an HV AP within Data Centres, Power Generation, Utilities, Critical Infrastructure or other major industrial projects would be highly desirable.
• Due to the required mobilisation timescale, EU nationals are preferred, although candidates who already hold the appropriate right to work/visa for Belgium will also be considered.
