The Role: Project Management  
  • Management of small and medium value projects and tasks (typically <£150k/yr per project) as directed by the Head of Service Delivery / Head of Projects

You will ideally have experience working in a similar environment, in a relevant sector such as Recycling, Waste Management, Water Treatment etc. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business in a stable and everchanging industry.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, as an Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Reactive repairs and maintenance on a range of equipment across the site.
  • Preventative maintenance on all mechanical systems including pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes etc.
  • Always working to minimise downtime across all equipment site-wide
  • Remaining health and safety focused at all times

 

The shift rota for this position is 4 on 4 off including days and nights. Please only apply if this is suitable.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Level 2 minimum Mechanical qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ 2/NVQ 3)

Introduction

We are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join the maintenance department of a large Energy from Waste plant in Kent. This plant can produce up to 45MW of Power by processing up to 550,000 tonnes of waste per year, usually destined for landfill. The Electrical Engineer will play an integral part in ensuring the plants electrical systems are maintained and in working order to ensure maximum plant availability.  

What will I be doing? 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, typical duties will include:
  • Leading and managing a team of electrical technicians to ensure the plant is maintained to the highest standard to ensure maximum plant availability
  • Holding the position of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) working on both LV and HV electrical systems
  • Scheduling, planning and optimising all electrical maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Supervising and directing contractors.
  • Working closely with the operations department to assess and review plant performance shortfalls and how these can be rectified
  • Assisting in the setting up and development of the sites Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies. 

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Ideally a recognised qualification in electrical engineering at HND/HNC/ONC level or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with a range of electrical plant including HV switchgear, transformers, motors, generators and variable speed drives etc

This plant is part of a fleet produced 22GW of Heat & Power across Europe and has four assets in the United Kingdom. This role is available on a two year Fixed-Term supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the EC&I equipment.  If you a Level 3 qualification in a relevant EC&I field and are interested in joining a large thermal power plant, then get in touch.
