Plant Operative - Biogas

Astute’s Renewables team are working exclusively with an established Anaerobic Digestion business, who are looking to recruit a Plant/Site Operative for their site in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, working Monday - Fridays with weekend cover and on-call rota.  The Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the day to day running of the renewable energy plant and comes with a competitive salary, discretionary bonus and excellent training and benefits package.   • Carrying out the day to day operations of the anaerobic digestion plant
  • Working Monday - Friday and being part of an on-call rota
  • Learning how to use the SCADA control systems to monitor the process
  • Carrying out planned & reactive maintenance of the plant, which will include working on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pipework etc once trained
  • Feeding fuel into the process using mobile plant such as a telehandler
  • Responding to machine and systems failures once trained
  • General site housekeeping, keeping it clean and tidy
  • Ensuring adherence with health & safety

  Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • A relevant Engineer degree is desired but not essential
  • Telehandler licence is an advantage

  Personal skills   The Plant Operative role would suit someone who has:  
  • Experience working in Anaerobic Digestion or a similar environment such as Agriculture, water treatment, energy from waste ect
  • Experience operating mobile plant such as a telehandler or loading shovel
  • Experience carrying out first line maintenance on processing plant such as pumps & conveyers would be an advantage
