Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate HSEQ Advisor to join one of the industry leaders in hazardous waste management solutions and Industrial Services across the UK as part of their core team, supporting operations within the Corporate Stewardship team. Working as the HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting operations maintain high standards of safety, general health, and environmental compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Graduate HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Proactively support and embed a proactive safety culture through positive engagement on site and throughout operations.
  • Provide HSEQ support and advice to the business operations as specified by the Group Head of HSEQ to ensure compliance and standards are maintained; and promote procedural changes to align with good, safe working practices.
  • To assist operational teams, develop risk assessments and safe systems of work (RIPS scheme).
  • To undertake documented HSEQ inspections and audit against IMS procedures for the business.
  • Liaison with external auditors and helping the company to maintain required certification and accreditation.
  • Assist with close-out of HSEQ queries from both internal and external sources.
  • Use site visits to gather and promote best practice across the Group.
  • Provide support to development of risk assessment, method statements, procedures and permit application supporting documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Degree in a technical, engineering or science discipline (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH (or equivalent)
  • Environmental awareness training
  • Articulate and able to write clearly and concisely using factual based observation.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance and regulations impacting the waste sector.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Experience working within a HSEQ role or working with auditing/implementing management systems.
  • Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to our sites across England and Scotland and access to a vehicle.

Introduction

Our Client is one of the UK's leading provider of Environmental solutions, offering a full range of Waste and Energy Recovery services through a vast and growing network of Plants and Facilities across the country and as such they are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join one of their key sites in Rochester. Working as their Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out key planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the recycling facility on a wide variety of heavy plant and equipment.

What you will be doing

As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across heavy industrial plant
  • Mechanical fault-finding and route cause analysis techniques
  • Working across all processing plant
  • Maintenance on wash plant,sorting equipment,  motors, conveyors and other manufacturing based equipment.
  • Minimising downtime, ensuring plant runs at optimum performance
  • Be able to deliver all work set to the operational expectations and budgetary requirements
  • Keep records using CCM systems
  • Working as part of a shift pattern
  • Other duties as required.

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an experienced on-site Industrial Services Manager to join one of the leading Waste Management specialists working within the Hazardous Waste sector across the UK. They are looking for an Industrial Services Manager to join their established team at their facility in Paisley, to support their hazardous waste treatment operations and industrial cleaning services to a number of clients across the north. This will be managing the daily running of its industrial service teams both on-site and off-site.

 

The Role

Working as the Industrial Services Manager, you will be responsible for delivering ongoing performance of the industrial service operations, including:
  • Daily management of the industrial services team, ensuring all work is completed in line with customer requirements., contract agreements and business processes.
  • Managing the safe, compliant and commercially sound day to day running of a busy industrial services team, driving operations in line with regulations, permits and operating licenses.
  • Managing performance and growth in line with company targets, ensuring customer service excellence is always achieved.
  • Monitoring resource plans against predicted workloads, projects and commercial requirements. Ensuring the team achieves against business plans and budgets.
  • Continued development of the industrial services operations, building growth strategies in line with sales activity and projected work.
  • Market knowledge on competitor developments in relation to technologies, projects, equipment and trends.
  • Hands-on involvement where required to support the jetting team and services team both at Paisley and across 3rd party sites.
  • Ensuring all assets (equipment, vehicles and plant) is maintained and operating effectively, working with maintenance teams or reporting issues where necessary.  
  • Any other duties as required.

 

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates must have previous operations management experience working within the Industrial Services or Hazardous Waste industry, with strong knowledge of the Industrial Services sector.

Candidates should have demonstrable success developing industrial service solutions and have an in-depth understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance, ideally holding an IOSH or NEBOSH certification.

Candidates will ideally be UHPWJ / HPWJ certified or have a good understanding of high-pressure water jetting services.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have a flexible attitude to work.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Mobile Plant Operative, your responsibilities will include but not be limited too.
  • Operating mobile plant and on-site equipment such as Front End Loader, 360 or 180 Excavators.
  • To carry out a variety of manual, machine operated duties across the waste processing site.
  • To ensure the maintenance and operation of all site equipment is carried out in a compliant manner.
  • To report any defects using the approved system.
  • Supporting in the pre-sorting and sorting of the waste recycling material, feeding material into the processing machinery as required.
  • Ensuring that Risk Assessments and Safe operating procedure are adhered to at all times.
  • To carry out any reception or front of site duties needed when required.
  • To demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach in order to ensure vital tasks are achieved.

 

Skills & Requirements

The ideal candidate must have:
  • Knowledge of relevant plant and industrial machinery including operation of the plant and first line maintenance experience.
  • Experience operating mobile plant and on-site equipment such as Front End Loader, 360 or 180 Excavators. A formal certification NPORS (or equivalent) would be desirable.
  • Excellent health and safety understanding.
  • Previous experience working in the waste industry or a similar heavy industrial sector.
