  • Lead primary electrical design across multiple renewable energy projects
  • Take a hands-on role in BESS site layout and HV/EHV design
  • Create layouts for BESS sites, EHV outdoor compounds, switchrooms and control rooms, cable route drawings, LV layouts, earthing layouts
  • Produce associated calculations including short circuit studies, earthing studies, electrical layout calculations
  • Deliver plant engineering design, including switchgear, transformers, VT/CT equipment
  • Produce detailed technical specifications for equipment
  • Liaise with internal engineering teams to integrate full design scopes
  • Consolidate designs into comprehensive specifications for procurement
  • Interface with procurement teams to support equipment sourcing and pricing
  • Support procurement by providing market-ready technical documentation
Professional qualifications ย  We are looking for someone with the following: ย 
  • Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred)
  • Strong UK project experience across renewable energy projects, BESS, solar and wind
  • Proven experience working to DNO standards (G81), TSO standards and National Grid IES standards
  • Experience across ICP environments, DNO/iDNO networks, TSO projects and Tier 1 contractors
  • Demonstrable experience in primary electrical HV/EHV design, substation layout design (11kVโ€“132kV), earthing design, power systems and grid connections
  • UK experience is essential โ€“ this role is not suitable for engineers without UK renewable project experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience delivering LV and HV installations in a site-based setting (HV is essential).
  • Background working on utility-scale or infrastructure-based electrical projects, ideally in energy, power, or renewables.
  • Strong knowledge of network operator standards, ideally including G81 and up to 132kV.
  • Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
  • Comfortable working under CDM regulations and familiar with HSG47 and wider safety legislation.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); working knowledge of SAP or DNO authorisation processes is a plus.
