Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor role
ย
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will:
ย

Take ownership of all commercial and contractual matters across assigned projects

Lead the negotiation, preparation, and agreement of variations with clients and supply chain partners

Measure, value, and certify works completed on site with accuracy and transparency

Prepare, submit, and agree monthly applications for payment

Support tendering activity, cost planning, and bid submissions where required
-
Track design development and ensure all commercial impacts are captured and agreed
-
Review subcontractor payment applications and monitor commercial performance
-
Report progress against programme and highlight risks and opportunities

Maintain robust budget control and produce cost-to-completion forecasts

Issue and manage Early Warning Notices (EWNs) in line with contract requirements

Provide commercial and contractual guidance to Project Managers

Work closely with Finance, Procurement, and Legal teams to review and administer sub-contracts

Professional qualifications
ย
We are looking for someone with the following:

Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline

Minimum 10 yearsโ experience in a senior or project quantity surveying role

Background within Utilities, Civil Engineering, M&E, Energy, or Oil & Gas environments

Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC, JCT, and FIDIC
-
Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders across complex projects
