  Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician role Reporting to the E/I Supervisor, you will:
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation assets

  • Support operations across maintenance, civil, technical, and contractor management functions

  • Maintain accurate records using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Write and implement operational procedures and work instructions

  • Ensure all activities comply with safety and environmental standards

  • Take on authorised roles under site safety rules

  • Lead teams in a hands-on capacity during the absence of the team leader

     
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Time-served electrician with an apprenticeship and FETAC Level 6 (or equivalent)

  • At least 3 years' experience in electrical/control and instrumentation maintenance

  • Knowledge of HV, MV and LV systems, and E&I control systems

  • Proficient IT and communication skills with the ability to manage priorities

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Customer Engineering Manager, you will:

• Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial biomass steam boilers and associated systems.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve plant breakdowns and technical issues efficiently. • Carry out routine servicing and inspections of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. • Manage and oversee specialist sub-contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with site requirements and safety standards. • Record and report maintenance tasks using the company’s computerised maintenance system (Pirana). • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are adhered to on-site.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A minimum of HND or equivalent qualification, or a time-served apprenticeship in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline.

• At least 2 years’ relevant experience in an industrial environment, ideally with an electrical bias. • Experience with field service and support, particularly in troubleshooting customer problems. • A full UK driving licence.
