Responsibilities and duties of the Condition Based Monitoring Engineer role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will:

Lead the application of condition-based maintenance (CBM) strategies to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency across the site.

Act as the site subject matter expert for condition monitoring techniques including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thickness testing.

Select and implement appropriate condition monitoring techniques in collaboration with engineering subject matter experts.

Analyse condition monitoring data and translate findings into actionable maintenance plans to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Manage vibration analysis activities on site, including conducting vibration routes and interpreting results.

Develop, review, and optimise condition monitoring routes and inspection routines to ensure effective asset monitoring.

Manage lubrication practices across the site and supervise the lubrication technician to ensure best practice is followed.

Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance technicians in the use of condition monitoring techniques.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging condition monitoring technologies and communicate improvements to the engineering team.

Ensure all condition monitoring activities are carried out safely and in compliance with site health and safety standards.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Mechanical engineering background, typically through an apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering experience.

Minimum CAT-I certification in Vibration Analysis, with CAT-II certification desirable.

Experience working with heavy industrial equipment in a complex manufacturing or production environment.

Proven experience coordinating proactive or predictive maintenance programmes.

Experience implementing condition-based monitoring techniques across multiple operational areas.
