The vital Production Operator role comes with a starting salary of c.£33,000 + overtime + private medical + other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Production/Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

Perform routine operational checks and inspections.

Operate plant systems and equipment following established operating procedures.

Collaborate as a key member of the shift team to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.

Conduct basic maintenance tasks in line with approved maintenance processes and standards.

Diagnose plant issues and propose effective solutions.

Carry out pre-start inspections, commissioning, and decommissioning procedures.

Provide clear, accurate, and complete shift handovers.

Follow and promote all safety practices and operational procedures.

Assist the Production Team Leader in preparing safety-related documentation.

Support and, when necessary, cover responsibilities within the fuel and ash operations team
This role will be working 12-hour shifts – full shift rota can be disclosed upon request
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Ideally a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant engineering subject such as mechanical or electrical engineering

A health and safety qualification would be ideal but not a necessity
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Production Operator role would suit someone who has:

Prior experience working in a heavy process engineering environment such as power stations, paper mills, refineries, steel production, cement, etc.

Good teamworking skills and willing to pick up other work when needed

Experience in fault finding techniques
