When my primary contact, Megan, was out of the office for a week on annual leave, I anticipated some repetition and loss of momentum as Ruth became acquainted with me and the role. That was not the case. Ruth and Megan were an excellent tag team, and my concerns were quickly allayed.
Ruth kept me informed throughout the process and provided constructive feedback on my second interview presentation. Had I not successfully secured the position, I would have had no negative feelings towards Ruth and the Asture Team.
Gemma gave me a rundown of the job over the phone and my question to her was 'Do you yourself, have an engineering qualification ?' as I was totally impressed by her ability to articulate the concept around the role of the engineer at Augean.
My first telephone interview went very well because Gemma knew exactly the structure of the interview discussion. I was ready and the interview was a success moving to second stage face to face.
Again Gemma did her research very well. The interview session was competency based questions, Gemma advised me to use previous work related examples to answer and it worked. I've never felt comfortable in a high level, intense question and answer session. The opening question made me realise that Gemma was spot on.. 'Tell us what you know about Augean...' Apparently the morning before the interview, Gemma had rung me and practiced this question with her on the phone. She wished me good luck!
