We are seeking a Welder for our client, a metal fabricator located in Struthers, OH. The Welder will assemble various metal components. The Welder will primarily use the mig welding process to start in this role. 

 

As a welder, you will be responsible for:

  • Fits and assembles structural frameworks and housings from materials and welding equipment and follows blueprint specifications 
  • Examines blueprints and materials list to obtain parts specifications.
  • Lays out parts dimensions on the worktable, using a square, chalk line, and soapstone.
  • Tack-welds metal to outline to provide jig for assembly.
  • Positions parts in jig and files, chisels, and grinds parts, as indicated, to fit them together.
  • May heat parts with an acetylene torch and bend them in a vise, on an anvil, or around stakes mounted on a table.
  • Tack-welds fitted parts together
  • Periodically compares dimensions of assembly to blueprint specifications, using squares, rules, and calipers.
  • May anneal parts with an acetylene torch to remove the stresses of welding.
  • May fasten parts together with acetylene torch and brazing rod
