I am currently employed full time. Jim was very appreciative of what I needed to even consider the transition from my current role. The initial offer was not sufficient. However, Jim contacted the client and worked through the issues. The offer was modified to be exactly what I needed to consider the job and proceed farther into the process. The Zoom meeting was truly helpful. Putting a face to a voice is always good. More important, Jim was focused on getting down to what the next steps were going to be and setting expectations of what was to come. When I returned the call we could review his customer's need and expectancies and cross validate with my experience. He told me about how the hiring process was conducted. I've been happy to work with Jim so far. Unlike less experienced recruiters, I never felt like he was trying to meet some sort of call quota or rush my resume out the door for a marginally-suitable position. He talked with me about places where I might improve my skillset, and told me about some successful candidates he's had in the past. In the opportunistic, hit-or-miss field of recruiting, if you can maintain an ongoing relationship with someone, it means a lot, and I'm likely to continue my relationship with Jim regardless of the outcome for a particular role.
