About Amy Higgins:

Amy was fantastic overall and very supportive. There was one significant issue however that nearly caused me to reject the job offer and to be completely honest, was highly disappointing. The job posting CLEARLY stated the pay rate for the position I was applying for was $40-60 an hour. This was in the pay range I was seeking. As per Colorado state law, the pay rate must be included on all posted positions. After discussing WITH Amy and considering my past job compensation I decided to request $55 an hour. Later that day she reported to me that "there was an error on the posting and that it was a big mix up. The actually pay rate range was much lower" and they were prepared to offer me $35 an hour which is a 36% pay cut! This is a big issue after I already stated that I would accept the job and the posting clearly stated $40-60 an hour as the pay range. After asking for the MINIMUM posted, $40/hr, Amy informed me that the highest they could offer was $37/hr. I reluctantly accepted being that I really wanted the job. This pay rate is actually lower than my previous job, something which I find very disheartening. I have considered consulting my brother who is a lawyer regarding this and whether or not this is lawful. However, I would like to say that working with Amy was lovely apart from this issue and I am not sure if this was her fault for the mix-up. She was very responsive and well-mannered in all our interactions. She was supportive and positive as well during the process. I would greatly love to discuss the matter more with anyone who is interested because I do feel it is unfair and unethical to post a job rate then deny the applicant the MINIMUM listed pay. Feel free to reach out to me whenever you would like at 316*706*2553.
