As a Quality Control Technician you will be responsible for:

 
  • Performing assigned and scheduled laboratory tests on samples of raw materials, intermediate products, and final products in order to comply with company product standards.
  • Performing assigned and scheduled material (including but not limited to, raw material, packaging material) inspection in order to comply with company standards.
  • Keeping accurate records of test result as required.
  • Mixing and controlling concentrations of standard laboratory reagents.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment in good operating condition. Report all necessary maintenance and repair requirements in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining chemical reagents inventory.
  • Maintaining the cleanness and sanitation of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Assisting with waste treatment, yeast cultivation and yeast culture transfer.
  • Keeping all formulation, ingredients, test methods, and other trade related information in confidence.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Knowledge and abilities in Food Manufacturing Quality Control laboratory practices acquired through education and/or experience as described in the EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS section.
  • Accurate record keeping abilities as demonstrated by previous experience.
  • Ablility to handle chemicals, and mechanical testing equipment in the laboratory safely.
  • Ability to work in an environment in the presence of odors normally associated with laboratories.
  • Knowledge of safe laboratory practices, chemical handling techniques, and microbial culture methods, as well as proper use of automatic lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to make complex mathematical computations to determine concentration levels, percentages, unit conversion, dilution factors, and other standard calculations related to this job.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with chemical reagents, indicators, laboratory equipment, and their uses.
