Pay: $21.00/hour (with additional pay for occasional overnight shifts) Hours:Initial Training: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM for 4–6 weeks
Regular Schedule: A-Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), alternating 3- and 4-day workweeks including one weekend day
Occasional Overnight Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (1–2 times per month with additional pay)
Start Date: ASAP Duration: Temp-to-HireWe are seeking a Chemical Manufacturing Operator for a Temp-to-Hire position with our client, a reputable technology manufacturing company located in Corvallis, OR. The Chemical Manufacturing Operator will play an essential role in supporting batch production, material handling, and chemical processing operations in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with chemical handling or electro-mechanical processes, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and be committed to maintaining safety and quality standards. As a Chemical Manufacturing Operator, you will be responsible for:
Bottling, labeling, and bagging gallons of finished goods
Decanting 1-gallon containers into smaller bottles inside a glovebox
Picking bottles from various storage locations to prepare for shipment
Cleaning and maintaining chemical manufacturing equipment under engineering guidance
Replacing gas cylinders and managing chemical waste according to safety protocols
Supporting high-volume manufacturing (HVM) and pilot batch production
Maintaining general housekeeping in manufacturing and adjacent chemical lab areas
Performing weekly inventory counts and logging updates
Preparing shipments to the warehouse and receiving incoming deliveries
Assisting engineers and technicians with special tasks and projects
Recording completed work and updates in the shift pass-down log
Following all documented change-control procedures required in semiconductor manufacturing
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
High school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant work experience, or an associate degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field
2+ years of forklift experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing
Strong organization skills, flexibility, and eagerness to learn
A proactive, self-driven attitude in achieving team and individual goals
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with high-purity chemical handling is a plus
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs from floor to table height
Ability to move full 55-gallon drums using proper equipment (hand truck, pallet jack, drum lifter)
Comfortable standing in one place for extended periods
Capable of using a glovebox with thick rubber gloves to handle small items
Must be able to wear full PPE, including respirators when required
Frequent computer use for documentation and inventory tracking
