This is a long-term, permanent role designed for motivated professionals eager to develop their accounting expertise. As a vital part of the finance team, you'll play a key role in supporting healthy cash flow and maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors.

As an Accounting Specialist, you'll support daily financial operations by managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions that keep the business thriving. You'll partner closely with team members to ensure accurate billing, timely collections, and comprehensive recordkeeping—contributing to a smooth workflow and positive company reputation.

What You'll Do

As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Generating and sending accurate customer invoices on time, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable aging; following up professionally on overdue balances and documenting all outreach efforts.
  • Processing incoming payments via check, ACH, or credit card, and applying them accurately to customer accounts.
  • Researching billing discrepancies and collaborating with sales or customer service teams to resolve issues while maintaining customer relationships.
  • Preparing customer statements, credit memos, and reconciling accounts as needed.
  • Assisting with customer onboarding and account setup; maintaining precise and organized customer files and contact information.
  • Keeping detailed digital and physical records of accounting documents and internal notes for easy retrieval and review.
  • Tracking outstanding receivables and assisting in basic reporting to support leadership in decision-making.

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • At least 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting; experience in AR is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting/ERP software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including basic reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, high organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong professional communication skills; comfortable working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.

Location & Schedule
