Position Details:

  • Job Title: Forklift Operator (2nd Shift)
  • Location: Independence, OR
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
  • Salary: $19.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough safety inspections of forklifts prior to operation to ensure a safe workspace
  • Monitor fluid levels (oil, water, fuel) and perform routine maintenance checks
  • Stock packaging lines with empty pallets and communicate inventory needs to supervisors
  • Safely remove palletized bags from production lines and transport to stretch-wrap stations
  • Operate and manage stretch-wrappers, replacing film when necessary
  • Stack palletized goods carefully, protecting inventory from damage
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area by re-stacking, debris removal, and equipment upkeep
  • Read Bills of Lading (BOLs) accurately and load trucks with correct quantities and SKUs
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors promptly
  • Perform physical inventory counts and other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating a forklift safely and efficiently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably
  • Comfortable climbing on/off equipment and sitting for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read and comprehend English instructions
  • Adaptability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including dust, heat, cold, and rain
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays
