Job Title: Shop Mechanic (Hydraulic Cylinder Repair)
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, DOE Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM Start Date: ASAPLooking for a true mechanical role—not general maintenance or oil changes? What You’ll DoAs a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
Disassembling, inspecting, measuring, and rebuilding hydraulic cylinders (primary focus)
Rebuilding valves, pumps, motors, rotary manifolds, and hydraulic grapples
Measuring components accurately and converting measurements to decimals
Inspecting hydraulic lines and components for wear, leaks, and damage
Troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems and performing preventative maintenance
Removing and replacing seals, rods, barrels, and worn components
Assisting with pump and valve testing on test benches (training provided)
Following oil containment, cleanup, and shop safety procedures
Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience
Comfort with math, measurements, and precision work
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Confidence using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring devices
Ability to read a tape measure and convert measurements to decimals accurately
Ability to lift and maneuver 40–50 lbs consistently
Own basic hand tools (hammer, screwdrivers, socket set, etc.)
Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
No certifications required — experience and aptitude matter more than paperwork
Specialized skill-building in hydraulic cylinder repair
Stable, long-term opportunity with a shop operating since 1985
